ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.
2 of 2 < >

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Sub Wiring

My subs sound completely horrible and it has been bothering me for the longest time. I have 2 10" Sony Xplodes in a Bandpass box. They are wired to an amp rated at these settings: 4x65@4ohms 4x140@ 2ohms and 2x195. I have no idea what any of the stuff means though haha My main concern is they are probably wired wrongly. I made a little diagram to show how they are hooked up:

If anyone can show me how to properly connect them I would greatly appreciate it!

That is fine, but it depends on the OHM load of the subs and what OHM load the amp can handle. If you have 2 4ohm subs they are running at 2ohm mono. If your amp is 2ohm mono stable then your fine. We needs info on the subs and amp.

The amp info is going to be very hard to find. Adan ended up finding this site:
          http://www.bilforumet.no/elektronikk...orsterker.html
but it was in a different language. Only thing about my amp it says there is the power ratings which are 4x65@4ohms 4x140@ 2ohms and 2x195

Doh, for one its a 4 channel so the 2ohm load goes out the window. Heres how a 2 sub, 4 channel setup should look. If they are wired this was and it sounds like crap, its either a shitty amp(i vote here), or you have the gains up too much and the eq set wrong. http://a248.e.akamai.net/pix.crutchf..._4-ohm_4ch.jpg

edit...This is the Duval amp you were trying to identify before huh?

i can help with some settings if you snap a pic of the controls on the amp. Alos does your deck have sub control? And what deck is it, It might have a high voltage output.

That will have to be done tomorrow after school. I also have my speakers on that amp too so I will just put those back to factory connections and try rewiring my subs as well.

wait, you have the rear speakers wired to the amp AND the subs wired up mono? If so thats the issue, ohm load is WAY too low. Unless your running the speakers on the front channels and the subs wired mono to the rear, thats different. But in that config the subs are probably too low of a load for that amp.

Yeah your probably running the subs at too low of an ohm load for the amp, it says it will handle 2ohm stereo, not mono. Now it could just be the way you made the pic, but your speakers arent wired mono are they? I would suggest removing the rear speakers and wiring one sub mono to the front and the other to the rear and see how it sounds. I think its simply being taxed too much, dedicate it to subs and adjust the gain.

Id personaly run an diff 2 or 1 chan amp for your subs and use that amp for your front and backs.....heres what came to mind....is you sub channals running high pass filter you might want to check....if its on high pass you want to change it to low pass...make shure your subs arnt phased 180 out and i wouldnt see the point of running your other speakers bridged on the other 2 channals run them apart.....also if your subs and reg speakers are on the same channal the subs will only play like the reg speakers so make shure there not on the same channals.......i dont know it any of this helps just trying to trubble shoot here best of luck
