ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

I need help for power folding mirrors!

I bought some power folding mirrors with some heated mirrors as an extra, along with 3 buttons (2 folding mirrors button and 1 heated mirrors), and a harness! So my question is if I can connect the harness with one of the relays that are in the car or am I going to buy the relay too?

I don't think you're going to be able to use an existing relay, it will need its own.

      You need to read this

And NO, you won't be able to use the heated mirrors unless you want to compromised the wiring from the PFM. you can only have one at the time.

I'm not sure about the wiring on the heated mirrors, but the installation of JDM power-folding mirrors requires its own relay box. The link that dannyd posted gives the essential wiring diagram for the setup.

That said, I believe there was one member on this site, possibly xkjnboix, who was able to wire heated AND power-folding mirrors. Do some investigating, you'll get your answer.

xkjnboix has done the PFM with Anti Glare film, not heated.

Good luck doing it, I will not say that it's impossible.. I just didn't see how to do it.

I already took apart my power folding mirrors and I been studying the idea, there's too much wiring going thru the housing already, and there's no room to run 2 more wires from the heated element. I will take pics tomorrow ans post them since everything its apart.

Relay for what??? the heated mirrors or Folding??

As far as I know you only need a relay for the Power Folding option, the heated elements don't require any relays. I already wired mine for testing and no relay was needed it.

Yes, the function its the same, so it should work just fine.

Yes you can do this. I just finished building mine. I had lucifer1 help me on the wiring portion as far as where to tie in the heated mirror wires.

                      Here's what I did:

I put a 2-pin connector on the mirror lens itself so that the mirror can still be removed in the same fashion it always has. Then I mounted the femal end of the connector inside the housing out of the way of the moving lens. I just used an epoxy to glue it down as far back as I could. It's a bit tedious to get the male connector in there when I'm going to plug it in but I don't anticipate doing this often.

The two wires coming out of the female connector I stripped and pinned with pins from spare connectors and inserted them into the factory 8-pin connector.

(The following is still in progress)

On the corresponding slots on the body side I'll run new wire down through the door and into the body and tie into the back of the underdash fuse box. You want to tie on of the wires into the black/green wire that comes from the rear defogger relay. Again this on the back side of the fusebox where the wire has left that relay on its way to the rear defogger.

This way when you turn on the rear defogger your mirrors will be on a relayed circuit and be subject to the same timer as the rear window.
My Members' Ride Thread - It's a marathon build, not a sprint. But keep me honest on the update frequency!

i have jdm PFM + HEAT in both my cb7 and ba4

you do have to run the heat wires yourself through the housing and folding motor. since my rear defrost never worked since i bought the car i use it as the separate relay + fuse etc for the side mirrors. everything else is regular jdm pfm wiring.

the ba4 actually has a special switch which has both heat and fold on it but its very rare and only a handfull members on preludepower have it. and it wont fit the cb7.

I looked in your MRT, and didn't see it listed. I guess running the wires thru the folding motor wasn't a piece of cake since everything is so fucking tight there.

yeah im still screwed up since the october crash T__T

it really depends on what style of mirror you have belt type or non belt type. i believe the belt type was slightly but i dislike the belt type design.
