ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Instrument cluster lighting.

Tonight while I was driving I dimmed my cluster lights. I noticed that there was no light coming from behind my temp gauge. To be honest, I couldn't remember if I've ever seen it lit up.

Is the temp gauge supposed to have a light behind it.

There's 2 little bulbs behind the fuel & temp gauges.

    Probably burned out.

Thank you for the speedy reply. I didn't want to take the dash off to find out it doesn't light up.

no need to take the dash off. just take the black trim off then there are 4 screws on each side of the cluster and 2 connectors on the bottom. pull the cluster out and take off the connector on the top and you will see 2 or 3 brown twist off lights. they should have a blue rubber cover on them. replace the light that is out and reinstall i have done this way to many times. i can do this in my sleep now lol

Easy enough, I will take care of it next month while I change out the suspension.

While I replace them, is there a chance I could change the colors of the lights?
I also would like to light the climate control knobs if there was a way

I have never tried it but i dont see why not. What colors the bulb is a rubber sleeve. If you can fashion another sleeve im sure it would work

As for temp knobs i have no idea

Yes. You can get LED bulbs to replace them in any colour. The sleeve thing could work I suppose, just be careful about what you use because those regular bulbs create heat.

There is a way to light the climate control knobs. Someone on here has done it and explained it step by step in another thread. Search for 'climate control' in the DIY section.

Just a quick addition. Be sure that you remove the negative battery cable. I didn't do that once and I messed up my fuel guage.
