ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    Dual Alternator Complication

Alright so I plan on taking my stock alternator out and putting in 2 High Output Altenators. One alternator about the same size as my stock and the other probably about twice the size ( large case alt for GM vehicles ). But I need to be able to fit both into my 93 accord with the stock F22a1 in it. If I have to take out the Power Steering or AC I will. But if anyone has any idea on where I can squeeze them in it'll really help.
    Thanks

Why not just get 1 alternator rebuilt for the abuse?

Anything is possible with time and money.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

i removed my ac and the space the compressor occupies to me would be perfect for an AC DELCO/REMY single wire alternator. would have to do the pulley size math to keep the alternator at its peak output rpm, i think the old pully from the compressor could be rigged to go on the alternator, then mod or fab a bracket for it. if it spins itll put out amperage. even where the power steering pump sits would be good, then itd run off its own belt

Isn't there a wire tuck kit out where you can mount a d series alt in the back of the engine?

If you do that, you can run two GM alts in the front. You can see I've thought about this before.

You mean where the driveshaft is? no there isn't. ESP makes a relocation kit to place the alt lower on the block, where the AC condenser would go, though.

that would be your easiest route and buy the alternator relocation kit to go where your ac compressor is and just put another alternator there and you'll have 2 alternators..

Why do you need two alternators? Are you running 10 amps and 15 subs? You said the engine is stock, so no need for it. My alternator, stock rebuilt, put out enough to power a 1500 watt amp and a 12 inch sub. I also was going to put another 600 watt amp to power other things and it was still fine.

bro 3000rms.... what amp are you running, i used to have my own stereo business. i bench tested a whole lot of amps and i can tell you, very few put out 3000rms. i'd just run a single wire hopped up ford 220 amp alternator where the power steering goes. i had one on my ranger. 211amps at 2000rpms and it was compact. also i'd run an isolator switch and look into kinetic 16 volt batteries to put as close to the amp as possible. they have a very low esr. and with the ford alternator it should charge at close to 16.5 volts and stay pretty steady. the higher the voltage the less amperage you'll need to produce the power you're looking for. sometimes i miss my bump bump.

ok ill help you becuse you may not know...you dont need 2 alts for 3000rms you just need 1 220ish alt and 2-3 xs power d3100s and you can run that daily and be fine. Im telling you this from experiance. what amp are you running? chances are its not really a 3000rms amp...i run more then that daily on one alt without voltege drop the caps is a bad idea it wont help you run batts not caps....

If you feel like loosing power and gas milege just pick up a civic alt bracket the bolt in there where the AC goes direct fit then you can run 2 ALTs should you ignore what we just told you and want to run 2 ALTs....

I can see one practical use for a 2nd alternator other than a sound system. Not to thread steal or anything but If you were running a HAM or SSB/CB at high power (over 4 watts) then I could see why you would want to do this.

Not sure if this will help but I've seen in some member ride threads where people have their stock alternator rewired to 160 amps

As long as you have the alt your going to put as the seconary any welder can fab up brackets to go in either ac or ps position.
