ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    Kill switch question

Ok so i have been reading these forms about kill switch and i was going to gut my cruise control anyways because i dont even use it lol so i was wondering how i would wire that to be a main relay kill switch. The reason i need a kill switch is because im going to be working in a ruff neighborhood and i wanna make sure my car doesnt get stolen i also at the moment do not have a door key so i dont lock my doors so i was also wondering how much its going to cost to go get a master key made at a dealership

I would too like to know how to wire that seeing as how I took out my cruise control.

For a master key I made two at my local honda dealer. $6.50 a piece. Just bring your licence and title. Or the registration and your id [if the car is registered in your name] also. They will go over this but if the locks and/or ignition were changed since factory they will NOT be able to make your key. They use the origonal schematics from your cars vin number in the computer. It wont take much longer than 15 mins. Just go to the parts spot at your dealership. Ive been using mine for a week [since I just started driving it since my motor was bad] and its been great. And the past two months its been fine between unlocking the doors and starting the old motor to move the car. Youll also love the shiney new honda key.

Wire the cruise control switch so you have the low current ground wire coming from the main relay and going in to the the CC switch.

Then take another wire and go from the other terminal of the CC switch to ground/chassis.

Quick and easy. If the main relay isn't grounded, it won't activate.

Ok so what color is the ground wire coming from the Relay and does it matter which place in the male connector matter

Should be a black wire. Black is a standard color for negative or ground.

On the switch, position doesn't matter. All you are doing is either making or breaking a connection.

Try to match gauges or go bigger than the current gauge.

16-18 would work as it is just a signal wire.

Would it work the same if you ran the ground from the resistor box too the cc switch? Then your fuel pump would kick on, your relay would click, the car would turn over but it would not start. Thus making your car look like a piece of shit that doesn't run.

The resistor box has a hot bus, it doesn't have a ground. The ECU grounds the injectors to complete the circuit. But if you took the 12v bus wire and wired it through the CC switch, then yes it should work.

Also keep in mind that the injectors draw more current than a simple relay coil and that current must pass through the switch increasing the probability of failure.

what I'm hearing you say is,
while feasible, it could be more problematic.
Too have this work correctly you would need a higher current switch.
                        Is that right?

Why would you do all of this? If you have a center console where the armrest is you can cut a small hole for it and get a three prong toggle-switch. Wire one to power the other to ground. The one with power fire that with a 15 amp adapter to fuse in with the wire. Then take out the seats on the passenger-seat.

After that there should be 2 to three wires test one for power and ground. The power wire is the one that you want not the one that wires the guage for the fuel just the one for the power only. Now when you wire the power toggle switch to the pump leave it on in the on position that way your able to start the car but shield the connectors since they are male connectors put female connectors on them to shield it from touching bare metal.

Then to test it out cut the car off and turn the switch in the off position then start the car if the car starts up then slowly dies you have successfully made your very own kill switch. No fuel cars not going anywhere unless its on a flatbed or at gun-point lol. I thought the whole purpose of a kill switch is so that its hidden.
