My lights on my climate control are out. I'm tired of guessing which button does what in the dark. Does anyone know how to get the lights to work?

ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

i would just go to the jk and spend some time removing the bulbs from a few different cb's because a lot of the bulbs are burnt out. I even thought mine were burned out but sometimes they turn on if i hit a hard enough bump. Don't go wasting your money on a CC. or the best and most effective way to convert the to led's you might be able to just buy them from superbrightleds.com or https://www.superbrightleds.com/cat/...cluster-gauge/ I think they are NEO3 or 4 not sure , but try and get ones that are 360 angle so that there is no hot spots. Other than that it's pretty easy replace them.

Removing the unit is 99% of the work, once you have it out, the bulbs simply twist out and take seconds to replace.
You just have to be careful about the temperature knob cable bolted to the back of the HVAC unit with the 3 phillips screws. If you pull too hard when initially trying to get the unit out of the dash, it'll break the 21 year old housing's plastic ears holding the cable to the HVAC unit
You can basically do everything up to that point with a regular phillips head screw driver and small jewelry screwdriver to get the vents out from the dash garnish.
Step one is to remove the dash garnish and the 13 or whatever screws holding it in, then its an easy 4 screws holding the HVAC and out it comes. Make sure to have a good LED light to see what you're doing or do it in bright daylight, you'll need to see where everything goes before you remove stuff after the unit is out.

I pick up switch bulbs when I am at the junkyard and 90% of them are bad. For the entry fee and amount of time to take one apart it would be easier to just go to the dealer. Brand new bulbs are much better than 20+ year old bulbs which will probably fail shortly after you put them in.Manual Belt Conversion-Variable Intermittent Wipers-Steering Volume Controls-Rear Defroster Antenna-JDM Climate Control-MDX Steering Wheel-Lighted Mirror Switch-CL Trunk Solenoid-CL Homelink-Shaved Hood Squirters-Foglight Wiring Diagram-Door Panel Removal-Puddle Lights-Ambient Lighting-Door Speaker Install-Window Seal and Regulator Cleaning-Prelude Cluster-Mirror Tweeter Pods-Illuminated Window Switch -More Coming Soon
