ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    New Sound System Help

Okay, in case my username havent said it enough already, I have a 1992 DX. I;m getting a new Sony head unit and speakers, the problem is that these cars only have two speaker pods(the ones in the front doors), there are none at the back. What can I do to get the best sound possible out of this crappy lay out?

I thought all the Accord's had rear speakers, I haven't heard of just two speakers in a car.

well, given the fact that you already have the proper set-up for a great sound stage.. (speakers only in the front makes it so that its seems as if the music is coming from the front, where its supposed to come from, rather than the rear, where most people listen to it from)
i would just get a set of nice component speakers for the front, amp them, and then run the rear coaxials off of the nice pioneer HU that you are going to get (i know you said sony, but pioneer is much better for not much more money)
then work your way up to an amp and a single sub...then it will only grow from there..

*edit* you do have rear speakers, the stock pod size for the rear of a 92 dx (i have one, too) is 6.5...a great start to a great system...good size speakers all around..

Rear speakers for the DX were optional. You will need to cut out a hole with a sharp razer blade and buy speaker boxes from a junk yard or dealer. I would buy the EX/SE boxes because they support a 6X9 speaker whereas the accessory DX and standard LX speaker boxes are 6.5

and what purpose would placing a 6x9 in the back serve...that would just move the sound stage further to the rear...urgh...

werd..6.5s are the best, unless you go with some of those weird midranges..like 7" or something like that...

IMHO, i would like 6x9's in the back.

Kinda would turn my trunk into a ghetto arse sub...

yea definetly have to go with a sub to get that bass. 6x9's just wont cut it for that deep bass you would get from a sub.

hahaha emphasis on the word "ghetto".

I just bought my car a few weeks ago, so at this point I'm more worried about making sure it's not gonna explode into 6 billion pieces next time I touch it, rather then dumping all of my cash into a nutty sound system.

I DID put brand new pioneer 6.5's in the back, and they get the job done.
