ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Am I crazy?

I'm getting 2 12" Emerson 600 Watt Subwoofers and a Boss RT345 600 Watt Amplifier put in my CB7. I'm also getting the Amplifier kit. My question: will I need a CD changer to run everything without buying a CD player or can I use my factory tape deck to run everything while running an adapter and a portable CD player?

    #2
you can use the factory tape deck. you have to hook it up through the high level imput. it should have some instruction with the amp you buy. the high level imput basiclly just splices into some wires and plugs into the side of the amp. later.

There is no point in having a sub and amp if you cant control the sound that comes out of them. with the OEM deck you are verry limited with the built in EQ

You could get an OEM intagration unit but they range in the same proce as a new deck.

waste of money without a head unit.

its like having a 1985 Ford Tempo stock, nothing added to it and buying a full badass supercharger.

all that system for extras but no main power to support it. bad idea if you didnt get the head unit.

jeez enough on the guy already, i think he go the point. maybe he didnt buy the stuff. you dont need a after market head unit to get good sound out of a system for all of you who think differently WHERE are your facts. we install systems on 350zs and all kinds of new cars where taking the radio out and replacing it is just not an option.. let him do his thing,

to answer your question no your not crazy. good start. just make sure the amplifier you have has a high level input if not let me know i have a kit at work that you can connect the speaker wires from the rear speakers to and the output is low level rca jacks to the amp...
