Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

kuz what will happen is it will hit good a few times and then send the amp in to protect. I though I had bad wiring sum where so I first put my DMM on the power wire and got full voltage, I then checked my ground which was fine. I noticed it would only kill when I got it so loud so I sat back and watched the light. it would go to protect (red) then die out and come back to green, repeat process. I'll try putting it on 2 and 80. hopefully it wurx, thanx 4 the helpOhio CB7's Midwest CB7's Ohioaccords.com

didnt wurk, just made it go into protect even quicker than b4. so would a cap be able to store enough energy to power the stereo while the car recharges it? or would I just be better off finding a high output alternator?Ohio CB7's Midwest CB7's Ohioaccords.com

Right now, I'm thinkin bout breaking it all down and re running all the wires. my main worry was that there was a possible cut in the power wire but when I used a "jumper" wire I tried it at the posi batt end to the amp 1st and then the nega batt to the amp, but it still kept cutting out. The thought hey maybe my amp is toast but pulled it out and it ran fine so its not the amp. all that leaves is my inputs, speaker wires and remote. if remote was bad itd juz turn it off. But could the inputs hav a possible short and send it in2 protect?Ohio CB7's Midwest CB7's Ohioaccords.com

I'll try to get sum pix, but lets say that the ohm diff is the actual problem, how would u go about equalizing the ohms?Ohio CB7's Midwest CB7's Ohioaccords.com

well lets say you have 2 4 ohm subs. if you take the positive on one sub and connect it to your amp and the negitive on the other sub and connect it to your amp and then connect the negitve on the first sub to the positive on the second sub you have created 8 ohms of resistance at the amp's terminals. now if you hook up the positive on both subs to one terminal and the negitive on both subs to one terminal you have created a 2 ohm load at the amp's terminals. the first wiring setup is call series and the second wiring setup is caled parralel. tell us exactly what you have, and we can probibly tell you what to do.spin city

I dnt hav a camera right now, the wiring is in series. in a bridge to the rear 2 channels. the wiring is correct, and there is no cuts in the wiring so there is no shot to ground. I've done stereos b4 but it's been like 3 years since I did them. With the ohm difference though, is there anyway to equalize it by inserting a resistor in the line as needed?Ohio CB7's Midwest CB7's Ohioaccords.com

ok my amp is at a constant 4 ohms even bridged, and tomorrow I will check my sub with my dmm at skool and see how many ohms that is. kuz I think if the sub is like at 2 ohms then if I insert a 2 ohm resistor then it will up the ohms to 4 allowing it to be powered with ouut the protect kicking on. thankz for all the helpOhio CB7's Midwest CB7's Ohioaccords.com
