I was just curious if any of you guys had a double din in-dash video setup in your car. My main concern about getting one is the viewing angle because of the positioning of the system being so low. Anyone have any info on this?

ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

I couldnt agree more, had a Clarion VRX765VD, was a pain in the neck to seeOriginally posted by 4rthgencordthe viewing kinda sucks because of where the heater controls are. ur lucky if it can go up at a 90 degree angle. id stick with a reg deck. kinda regret spending money on one instead of the engine....

That looks pretty cool. Is that lcd part of that honda unit? Do you plan on keeping the heater and a/c controls?Originally posted by cp[mike]heres a pic of something ive been working on... definately not done yet, but it gives you an idea of what im doing.. the angle is much better than a double-din unit...

i have a pic of it turned on in this thread: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=56608 that honda deck is from my moms car, im just using it as a mockup, i have my panasonic mp3 deck for it, which has an aux input for the PC audio.
i relocated the hazard switch up top so i could cut out that whole section under the vents that has the three buttons in it, so i could fit this:
its a jdm digital climate control unit from a prelude (thanks to phatdoughnut)

Yeah some guy over at Ranger-Forums.com is building a carputer as well, I wanted to do the same thing he did actually customizing the bezel to fit a screen in it, came out pretty nice and so far is running but according to him its not up to par yet..Originally posted by cp[mike]i remember seeing that, very nifty... cant decide if i want to just fiberglass in the gaps and leave the screen removable, or do that... that definately looks more finished that way... hmmmmm... decisions decisions
Progress can be read here. Carputer Thread
Heres an image of what he had to work with..I think it came out great in the end.
The mockup
