ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Headunit problems

I have a sony xplod (forgot the model number) but I have a problem as every time I put a cd player in it starts to say load, then says error and ejects the cd. Could this be caused by wires in the back being lose/bad wires? As I replaced the wire harness in the back from a similar xplod cd player which also had the same problem. Any ideas? As I would like to not have to buy a new one, thanks in advance.

Its not the wiring, seems you have a problem with it reading your cd's. Are you using bootleg cd's? I've had problems with some sonys reading them. You are probably best off by getting a new unit. I would suggest an Alpine

Alpine is the way to go, especially the older model such as CDA-7894, CDA-9813 or CDA-9815.
I have the same probem also with my first Alpine HU, the cost for fixing it is the same price as a used one. So maybe your sony's HU brain is broken

yeah check if your using original cd's not burned ones, sometimes it wont read them if there burned, also try using a cd cleaner, your lends might be dirty, and if that doesnt work, your better off investing in a new one.

I could be in a different format that the sony cd player can not read like the mp3 format.

Thanks for the info, ya the problem was the cd player seemed to not want to read burnt audio cds, but I just remounted the cd player since it was lose, reset the unit and made sure the wires in the back weren't lose, and now it plays burnt cds again , I don't know why it would do that. Is it because I strenghtened the ground by using more screws to secure the radio? Also are alpine lasers just better at reading burnt disc? Thanks in advance

pioneer is just that, the pioneer in its field. the alpines are nice and pretty. i have owned both. the name sells alpine, the quality sells pioneer. alpine jumping on that whole IPOD thing didn hurt them either

i will take a pioneer premier with a full eq any day, and let your ears decide
