ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Looking for cheap speakers

I'm looking for cheap speakers to get for my birthday maybe next month.

    http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1134702498806

How are these? I would be buying two sets, so four in all.

Any suggestions on some nice cheap speakers?

Yes, those pioneer are CHEAP speakers. There are worst brands, and there are better brands. It realy depends on your set up, what RMS you plan on running and how you put them in the car.

Spend whatever you feel is right, you get what you pay for. Ive spend $90 on a single speaker and $25 on a pair and honestly. Every penny is accounted for in the sound. $90 speakers sound like $90 and $25 speakers sound like $25. If your just filling out OEM speakers with aftermarket, those should give you a nice upgrade. Honestly pioneer or sony arent exactly top of the line, but they usualy do better than stock (usualy).

I know alot of people have strong opinions about speaker and brands so, this is my opinion and is from what Ive seen over the years. Your experiance might be differnt. But the bottom line is, get the best you can afford and install them correctly done right most good speakers will last the life of your car. Your ears will thank you for spending more than $50 on a set.
I cant Slam further. The ground refuses to get any lower.

Pepboys/autozone...set of four 6.5" for ~$60 Helped buddy install 'em, worked just fine for $60. Even better with a small ghetto subwoofer.

But on topic, I think you can do better. Maybe look for something more around $100. Unless you're just looking to replace the OEMs with something inexpensive and won't be using an amp. Depends on your needs and budget.
I got a pair of Eclipse 6.5" triaxles for $120 at Tweeter. They've been pretty darn good. It was the cheapest ones Tweeter had.

I really am just looking for something to step up from the original factory speakers. Thing is I'm only 16 and I don't really want to make my parents spend a couple hundred bucks on speakers for my first car.

So here's the deal. If I bought 4 of those speakers, could I buy a 4-channel amp to make them sound better? I could probably buy that on my own.

I don't really want a huge subwoofer because I don't really like blasting bass a whole lot.

I pretty much know NOTHING on Audio/Electronics but I have a friend who knows a little and his dad used to install car audio systems for Circuit City. So I kind of take pride in doing everything myself just so I can learn a little more with the car. I already took a look at the door panel tutorial thing, doesn't seem too hard at all.

Also, I have an old pioneer deck laying around:

            http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pn..._35219,00.html

Without any cables or anything attached. Do I just go out and buy the Car Stereo Installation kits? Is that all I need? I can't find the wiring anywhere around my house so yeahh.

Sorry it's so much to read, I'm just kinda fed up without being able to listen to music. My factory tape deck didn't work too well, the connection/whatever it is was loose and you'd have to push the deck in or move it as much as you can to make it play.

I have pioneer 6x9's in my other car and I like them a lot. Never had a problem with pioneer.
