ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    High Output Alternator

I was told by a "Honda Tech" at a "Honda Dealership" that I could cause problems by running a high output alternator. Has anyone had this experience or heard of this. I'm skeptical.

I think the only reason they told you to that, is so you bring your car to them to replace the alternator... using a HO alternator wont do anything but charge your battery up faster. I am running a 125 amp alternator, instead of the stock 85.

You really dont need one unless youre running A LOT of electicals that drain your battery quick. If youre just running a simple system with a sub or two, you dont need one.

you would be surprised how little you need an upgraded alt. I am running a SUV/Truck batteries, 1 farad cap and i still drain them.

IF youre still draining or getting flickering, you should think about upgrading all your grounds, everything will run a lot smoother.

I am actually using an OEM honda alternator, that was re-wound at a local company here. I payed around $120 for the whole thing.

Honda dealership wants to sell you honda parts... they are not going to give you any good advice about changing what is stock on the car. That and there shop rates suck. lol

Weither or not it will burn out your stock harnesses... probly not. Uness you already have damaged wiring. Im running a HID system off the stock headlights... no burn wires yet after nearly a year.
I cant Slam further. The ground refuses to get any lower.

Thats the thing... you are just paying for a name... The company I used is called ANCA, and they are awesome. I used to deal with them when i ran my shop. They also do stuff like axles, drive shafts, starters, and pretty much anything rebuildable. They have a great warranty, and Im gonna use them on the replacement axle for the Black 93 accord...
