Was given to me by the mother in law. Basically the insurance company totaled it due to the front corner damage. I Just took ownership of this thing a week ago and already ordered the front replacement lights and connectors. It was missing all of the side marker, so trying to track down the pigtail and connectors was a pain. Since this is a salvage title now, I have to get the DMV to inspect and sign off on the lighting, after that it's home free for whatever I plan on doing to it. Since the photos that 80's style front bra thing was pulled off......not a fan of em.... It's a fun car, 5 speed manual but needs some upgrades.

for one, the front door speakers HAVE to be replaced.. The stock stereo was replaced with a Kenwood CD deck and the fronts are obviously blown because they sound as good as a seagull in heat...

I am in California so I need to find something legal'ish in regards to the exhaust. I want to do a header back install but we have to see how it goes. Until I get DMV to sign the papers for being salvaged, I am only doing repairs as close to stock as possible.

I have the whole wife/kid thing going on so improvements to the car need to get rubber stamped by the check writer (wife)..

As long as the header has a carb # on it it is legal in cali. Keep your cat on and as far as the muffler you can use any one you want as long as it's not too loud then you might get hassled. i am running a manaflow dual tip muffler. It sounds awesome. But check out the fourms there are alot of them on here.

okay, so I asked my boss (Captain of Modesto, Ca. Police Department) about the ramifications of any exhaust modifications as I want to do this first.. HAHAHAHHAHA he pretty much said "don't let me catch you in the parking lot where it exceeds the 95db level".. of course, being a smart ass I asked why..

"if I or any officer have reason to believe that you illegally modified your vehicle, we can pull you over and pop the hood."

He slyly told me that if I do anything, don't put a hug tip on the end as it would be a huge neon sign that says "Pull me over and check my hood"...

California... got to love this state.

So at this point I am now leaning suspension.

You'l be fine. It is true that some cops target imports more vs V8s but if you don't (rice) your car out and make it clean you'll be fine.

Hahaha yeah I know.. The quote from the repair shop is about $1500. Since the tax return isn't that great and property taxes are a must, I have to settle on a new headlight and call it good......for now.

They are aftermarket I am sure, the father in law always changes the rims out for something "shiny".. think i'll hang on to them, but if not I'll let you know!

sorry dude, they look like hiundai caps to me. if your rplacing the lights, get blacked lights. if you get stock, they will prolly be more $ than fancy aftermarket ones any way. and if you just replace one, the age difference due to weather will be obvios. like only painting one repaired fender instead of whole car. wish mi9ne was a five speed. and no Im not gonna make it that way, dont even suggest it good nab btw. gets wife and kids around in style. now, no one freezes in the back of your old pickup

Sorry for the crudeness of these, taken tonight.. I have only had it for 2 weeks and been working so much overtime that I haven't had a chance to clean it up. It's cool though, you'll be able to see the before and after shots of the old vs. the new owner.. I will def. be taking car of this baby!!
