ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    My Coupe

So hey I'm new here. Also very new to DIY and cars in general. This is my first CB7! I bought it from my sister's boyfriend for $1k. (Great price!) All the work under the hood was done by him. H22, Stage 3 clutch. He did something to the suspension but I don't remember what. I am going to get a list of all the changes he made to it and post them later.
I am working on getting the front end fixed and all the little cosmetic stuff fixed. Then thinking of a small turbo and lower suspension.

Most of these are just the problems it had/has at the time of purchasing. Some photos after I replaced some stuff too. I am still having a problem with the hood latching all the way. Will work on that this weekend.

Really want a new bumper so this one fits flush with the fender and stuff.

The white hood and passenger headlight from a junkyard

    H22

All of these as it was when I bought it.

Should I be worried about this? I live in New Mexico so not very much moisture and rust is never really a problem. What can I expect from this?

I replaced this piece that the hood latch bolts onto. Got the part from the same vehicle as the hood.

The speedo is off. Still working on this. Gonna replace the speed sensor when I can.

So ya I am super excited that I found this forum, you guys have all been very helpful and tolerable of my noobiness! I look forward to learning more and becoming a contributing member of this forum.

Wow man a h22 swapped cb for 1k!

Welcome to the forum first off.

Im also a diy'er myself. Please check out my links in sig.

Now the rust, ill fix the 1/4 panal, just sand it bondo, and sand it again, primer. Do so b4 it gets thru.. Its just bubblin on top.

The rust inside the gas filler, spray a rust free paint, so it can at least slow it down.. Tape up the filler of course..

That's all I can think of, I mean that's wat ill do..

Other than that enjoy the forum and your cb!

Ya man I was in a pinch for a car and he really needed the cash. Unfortunately this is my daily driver at the moment so I need to be careful. No time for a long project until I can get my Subaru running (It's the one with the red fender in one of those pics)
I have a looong way to go but I am having a lot of fun learning and look forward to being able to see the results of my efforts.
Thanks for the suggestions! Do I need some kind of power sander or could I do that 1/4 panel by hand?

Well on ur car, its not bad like I said, I can do it by hand, but a sander is a lot easier.

I suggest you read all the stickies in each sub forum and ull fully understand ur cb a lot more.

Also maybe shop at a local harbor freight tool for a sander.
