ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.
2 of 2 < >

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    DIY: Brighther Tailights

i just want to post this up....for some that know this already...for those with dull reverse light who put leds in them....there is a way to make it 100% times nicer and more brighter and just requires a 2 flathead screw driver to do it.....

    unscrew....

you'll see that white protector or plastic thing(don't know what to call it...and just pry it out

    should look something like this

    outside view

    wow

left is the lens took off and the right with the lens on....big difference

My friend installed LED tail light bulbs, and his lights were invisible in daylight. I almost hit him once because I couldn't see that he was braking.

Slim chance of that. The tail lights themselves have reflectors and they're all you really need. This wont even fail an MVI. Well, maybe in California...

This. Depends on the bulb you use. The higher the angle output, the better.

Depends on what LED bulb replacement youre using. I used the ones at Autobone that are like this and they arent that bright, You can still barely tell I have my brakes on during the day though. When i upgrade iLl be replacing them with this style

That first style is exactly what my friend had. I never saw that second style before, but it looks interesting.

Whatever you do, be sure your brake lights and turn signals are visible at all hours of the day. No degree of looking cool is worth sacrificing your safety, or the safety of others.

That second style can come in two variants, ones with SMD or regular LEDs
but ill probably be going through http://www.superbrightleds.com I saw them back in 01 and they have very nice designs and LED replacements for pretty much any filament type bulb. I might go with a single 4 watt LED that has the built in heatsink I was even thinking of DIY'ing me some new lights that use red laser diodes with a diffuser, thatd make the plastic explode with color, but the duty cycle would be short so maybe just for brakes and accounting winter use etc, itd be a fun experiment.

yeah that is why i what to change my back up lights. It does not light up much behind me.. and does not help having tinted windows! i thought changing to LEDs would make it a lot brighter

i had the right one before that was only giving one watt...compared to the one i have right now...the highpowered led on the left...it gives out 5 watts plus acts like projector lens.....
