Supposedly you can get them with or without nicotine. Now they keep saying they are healthier...but this gives the false impression that inhaling nicotine alone is safe....it is not...BUT you don't have the other THOUSANDS of chemicals found in cigarettes going into your lungs.
For a small kit (cig, battery, charger, some packets) seems to be $89-98 US. Apparently one cartridge is equivalent to 15-20 cigs.
Even if it's a little more expensive then regular cigs...this IS healthier...but only because of the lack of carcinogens, but it is NOT healthy in itself...but in comparison it is a much better alternative Now if you get the ones with little to no nicotine, then those are even better
I don't know how well they give the sensation of smoking so that may be why they aren't popular here in the U.S., I have only found sites for overseas locations (UK and asia).
Not sure if they ship to the US but this site is recommended by the gamucci site (http://www.gamucci.com/gamucci/index.html)

I think these would be an excellent way to quit or just simply NOT get cancer and get your nicotine buzz. They come in different strengths and flavors I think too.
Of course there is an cig style quit nicotine inhaler, but it is prescription only and it doesn't have the "smoke" that these do. Plus you can't get those in different flavors
brief info nicotine by itself: Just saying, it alone is a great cause of the negative side effects on the cardiovascular system-it increases the effort the heart has to put out in order to pump blood throughout your body.
From various sites...
Nicotine has very powerful effects on arteries throughout the body. Nicotine is a stimulant, speeding up the heart by about 20 beats per minute with every cigarette; it raises blood pressure, and is a vasoconstrictor, making it harder for the heart to pump through the constricted arteries. It causes the body to release its stores of fat and cholesterol into the blood.
Nicotine binds to acetylcholine receptors in the brain and at autonomic ganglia, the adrenal
medulla, and the neuromuscular junctions. The specific sites of binding in the brain are the
hypothalamus, hippocampus, thalamus, midbrain, and brain stem, as well as the cerebral cortex.
Nicotine also binds to receptors in the nigrostriatal and mesolimbic dopaminergic neurons. When
nicotine receptors are stimulated, they lead to the release of acetylcholine, norepinephrine,
dopamine, serotonin, vasopressin, growth hormone, and ACTH neurotransmitters.
Nicotine triggers a variety of neurotransmitters and is one of the most potent stimulants of the
midbrain dopamine reward pathway. Nicotine acts on the locus ceruleus, regulating vigilance,
arousal, concentration and stress reactions, causing the tobacco user to be more alert. Nicotine
acts on the mesolimbic dopamine center, the brain's "pleasure center," creating a dependency
cycle. The combination of heightened arousal with a pleasure trigger creates a sense of cyclical
satisfaction.
