ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.
2 of 2 < >

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    What items are valuable

First of all, this is not a for sale thread. Its merely that I am not a fanatic about Accords (no offense) and dont know which specific parts may be of value to owners and I dont know if Ill be able to get to 30 posts to get into the classified sections on this forum (on MR2oc.com I have .98 posts per day... itd take a while for me to use these classifieds) So youll probably see me on ebay in the next couple weeks as I remove more stuff.

The car: its a 91 LX automatic that my sister crashed a couple weeks ago. I know lots of parts are valuable (engine, transmission, calipers, suspension components, etc) What might be something that I might overlook that people tend to need? For MR2s its stuff as little as the ash tray... its a precious item.

    The customizing my sister did.

Please dont offer to buy anything because Id really just like to get some answers, dont need the mods shutting me down for this.

Everything is of some value. And since it'd be oem, a lot of people would much rather pay the extra coin for it than some aftermarket shit that may, or may not fit.

Browse eBay and see what parts are going for, and price accordingly.

    Good luck!

Honestly man, if you were to strip that car down...and plan on selling everything, I'm pretty sure you'd end up with just a frame on that car in a short time. I'm always looking for replacement parts and shit. Little stuff, like Sensors, Light bulbs. If you're plannin' on doing anything with the engine, you'd probably get more if you parted it out, or catch up with someone on here near you, and might want the engine or tranny all together.

As for value, Iuno. I'd say plenty of things would be needed by someone...but wouldn't have much value.

I think Nine has it covered for ya.

I say get a new hood, headlights, grille, radiator, and radiator support, and fix the car... That damage doesn't appear to be all that serious. A partout takes a lot of time and effort. You could probably sell the whole car for a good chunk fairly easily. You're looking at about $400 in repairs, if that.

Its true the car seems to be pretty clean other than the new damage.

Yeah it depends on how much work your going to put into it. Parting out a car takes lots of work to disassemble and organize parts. You could probably get a large 'chunk' of money if you fixed it up and sold it as a whole. Again it just depends on how much effort your looking to put into it.

Some parts I can think of:
                      - Power Antenna
                      - internal engine parts can be desirable, if you super clean the pistons, rods, crank, it depends on the condition of the parts I guess.
                      - taillights
                      - side moldings if they're not rusted out
                      - wheels
                      - steering wheel
                      - shifter/boot/linkage
                      - gauge cluster

I was gonna do that, but once I figured all the prices for hood, left fender, radiator, radiator shroud and fans, a/c work, hood prop, misc connectors that were crushed on the harness, new windshield washer reservoir, hood latch, headlights, headlight housings, grill, radiator support, shielding gas/wire for my MIG and theres always other misc junk like the 80amp fuse that blew. Itd be sweet if there was a CB7 in a local junkyard for the parts, but you know as good as I do, that all these cars are still on the road and not broken down. And this way it also benefits your CB7 community. < This dudes cool, why dont we have this on the MR2 board....
