ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Paddle shift conversion

This was done to a 240sx but I thought it was pretty interesting and it don't seem to hard to do (although expensive. The universal paddle shifter mount starts at about $540 alone). Instructions on how to convert a automatic to paddle shift.

There was a paddle shifter setup on the 6th gen Accord in Japan, I believe... Used an H23 VTEC engine (if I remember correctly... 4am, so bear with me!), so we'd be able to use that transmission (not without extensive modification, but it's doable)

Interesting. I assume that its electronically controlled so some wiring will need to be done.

asome site you found their man..
I have always been intrested in this.
I had thought about it for my gsx, because they have something already similar for it, so going all the way wouldn't be that dificult.

I wonder how hard it would be to put the whole Evo X driveline into the GSX... I know the new setup is pretty much nothing like the old DSM setup (which was related to the older Evos)

i thought about this w/ a sport shift auto trans from a 5th prelude b4. just not use the shifter but put it over into the sport mode and use paddle to act like u are moving the shifter back and forth

Ah yeah, I keep forgetting that the Prelude had that.

The BB6 had actual paddles, I believe.

no, the bb6 didnt have paddles. You moved the shifter to the left into the manumatic setting, and flicked it up and down to shift.

Paddles would be fun but i know there has to be tons of work behind it.

so what about using the BB6 setup instead of paddles and then just have the manumatic setup? that would be unique to?

Honestly if you wana change gears yourself, get a manual.

                      More power too.

I may be wrong, but if you do a H22 swap, wouldn't you swap the H22 tranny? Then use the touchshift shifter?

The wiring would be the issue, but yes... that's the basic idea. Not exactly paddle shifting (as I now know), but it'd be the easiest way to have a "manumatic"

actually from reading that it doesnt look too hard, it comes with a plug and play ecu for the paddle shifters, i would just like to know what gear it would have to be in and how you switch in and out of paddle mode

I'm not 100% sure but I think you would have to put the car in park, neutral, and d4, like you normally would on a automatic or get a floor lever to put them into those. Then once you are in d4, you can downshift to first with the paddles and shift up and down when you want to using the paddles. now what would be even more crazy is to apply this concept to a manual so you use the clutch as you normally would, but instead of having to move a shifter, you just use the paddles. The shifts would be so short.
