Dont over rinse, drink COLD water, especially in the A.M., keep it clean, dont talk too much and basically put everything in a blender for a week.

I got one, had it for bout 8 or 9yrs now (Damn, didn't realize its been that long til jus now) The first day I ate nothing but KFC mashed potatoes but by the second day the swelling went down and I was back to eating regular foods.

how long after u got it, did u try eating fries?

I was eating normal food the next morning. The fries were a bit of a chore, my tongue ring kept getting stuck in the soft part of the fry. I just sucked on ice a lot and rinsed frequently, never had any issues
