ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Previous "Owners"

This is more of a personal rant, feel free to add your own experiences I'm sure we've all had problems with a previous owner doing a half-assed job on something.

Let me start first by saying that since I bought my 91 LX auto I've fallen in love with it more and more every day. What I don't love is that one of the previous owners was just a...."jerk".
One of the main things that bothered me is the dome light never came on. Today I finally fixed that, after a process of replacing the dome light unit itself, adding the plug for the dome light as he/she CUT the original plug off, today I got serious. I started by removing the pillar covers, as soon as I removed the front passenger cover I noticed 4 wires..2 of which were wrapped in masking tape the other 2...nothing just bare wire. Peeling back the headliner, about a foot back I find the dome light/passenger mirror light wires cut off and covered in glue. Painfully peeling each wire out of the glue, stripping it, then stripping new wires to connect them back so I can finally have a dome light.

Mission accomplished I have a working dome light so when I go to work at 2am I CAN SEE IN THE DARK.

This is just one of the few problems I've encountered and just need a...medium as it were to vent my frustration.

If you read all that, my apologies, welcome to my sunday and its just getting started.

Feel free to add your own "experiences" it will make me feel like I'm not alone out here.

I was fortunate enough to buy my car unmodified. Not cared for very well (and it was in an accident, repaired, and unreported... clean carfax...) but not modified.

My beef has been with the shop that did my h22 swap for me back in 2003. They halfassed EVERYTHING. After nearly $5000 total cost to me, I was left with a car that ran fine... but with electrical-tape splices all over the place (my oil pressure sensor was spliced on with electrical tape... ECU wires were exposed...) My transmission was only mounted with 2 bolts...

Gah... I hate that shop. I hate the internet for telling me it was too hard to do myself! If CB7tuner existed then, I wouldn't have had to pay a shop!

I bought mine all stock as well, and unraep'd. It had been garaged all it's life, one owner, an older couple both professors @ Dartmouth college which I live 15 minutes away from.

Sorry to hear your last owner was anything but stellar, but it does happen.

      life is good.

The kid i bought my car off of had racing seats in it and i was driving it before i bought it..no problems. As soon as i get it home the drivers seat starts acting up and basically just stops working..falls to the ground whenever serious pressure is applied. He took the headunit out which was ok because we agreed on that but he gave me a stock on that didnt work and i didnt know till i installed it later..and he took out the upgraded door speakers...

A bunch of other minor details but all in all i owed him 300 and didnt call him back..fuck him

my car was also unmodified as it was owned by a 92 year old lady, passed down to some college chick (not hot). the downside was it was in an accident (prolly rear end collision) and they didnt tell us until they had moved to north carolina...

at least some ricer didnt get his hands on it before i did as the body is still in pristine condition.
