Wow, just wow. I really <3 this site. Thank you for explaining answers in terms I can understand, and helping me actually learn how to fix problems & understand what is happening, why, and how to fix it. It's refreshing to not be flamed for being a noob. I'm the first to admit I'm a car noob, but I want to get better, and I'm trying. I have a tendency to break things that cost more then what I was trying to fix in the first place; or it's happened a few times in the past, at any rate. I'm more of a computer fixer... but I learned a little working on my old 86 & 87 LX-i's, and I hope I'm getting better.
Alas, I digress.
Thank you for your in-depth explanations, and the intelligent answers.
I recently performed my first oil change on my own. I have replaced an alternator, radiator, dizzy, cap, rotor, plugs, wires, battery, just basic stuff except the alt and radiator in the 3g where ... well, good learning experiences. Patience may be a virtue, but its not one of my strongest...
I used a high millage 10/30 with a filter that's good for 5-6k... even though I do my oil at 3k or very very close to it. I figure it's gone 300k and sounds and runs strong. I try (read as: fail at) not pushing the engine too much. It just feels like it WANTS to go, so who I am I to deny it, right?
Anyway, I'm really looking forward to being able to afford to work on this car. It's bone stock, and been well maintained its whole life. When I opened the jack storage area behind the passenger-side tail-light, I found the Jack, in MINT condition, and the ORIGINAL SERVICE CONTRACT from when it was purchased off the showroom floor. It had the owners name, so naturally I googled them, got thier phone number, and since they live here local, I called. The lady that answered was the old owner, and we chatted about her old car, and how much she missed it, and wished she'd never sold it, and how it was always dealer-serviced, and pampered for the 30k they put on it. They sold it to a "nice neighbor girl" who put the remaining 268k on it, and just traded it in. 2 owners. Both females. Now, I won't pretend to think that girls don't drive hard, because some do. I've been with ladies that make me grab the "OH_SH1T" bars & hold on to my seat, but I feel reasonably safe in saying that this car has been babied most of its 300k life.
I <3 Honda
I <3<3 GOOD Hondas

And I'm friggin STOKED to get into this cb7!
As a good poster, I promise to post pics when I can, vids if possible, and I'll see that the ones I post don't suck. Or at least suck less then the alternatives.
With that being said, I suppose I should introduce myself. Hi, I'm John. I'm 31, work full-time at a nice local hotel, and I'm a car noob that's doing his best to not be a car noob. I research, I read, I search, I get frustrated, I swear, I smoke, I drink, and I post. Hopefully not in that order, but sometimes it is LOL. I'm not a big fan of how sarcasm doesn't transfer well over type; but who is, right?
Anyway, I have a tendency to ramble, and I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy writing. Have a great night, day, week, life, and enjoy it! Make it "Another day in Paradise," live your dreams, and keep on posting about your cb7's! I know I will!
