ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    90-97 Shocks & Springs

I've been curious about the 95-97 V6 Accord shocks and springs not being able to fit the 90-97 Accord 4cyl models.

I did some digging around and here's what I found:

    90-97 Koni Yellow 8041.1167SP3 NEUSPEED/Koni Shock (F)
    95-97 V6 Koni Yellow 8041.1167SP3 NEUSPEED/Koni Shock (F)

    90-97 Koni Yellow 8041.1168SP3 NEUSPEED/Koni Shock (R)
    95-97 V6 Koni Yellow 8041.1168SP3 NEUSPEED/Koni Shock (R)

    BUSTED on the SHOCKS.

    HOWEVER....

Springs have different part numbers because of the springs rates, even for 90-93 and 94-97 L4 both have different part numbers but, will still interchange all 90-97 L4 & V6

    BUSTED on the L4 & V6 interchangeability.

OK so what ur saying is the shocks are definitely interchangable between the 4 cylinder and V6? And the springs, tho they have different spring rates, can fit? Well if thats the case then why does everybody always exclude the V6 when talking about CD and CB suspension compatibility? I guess no one ever knew this information... Until now. Thats nice, good info there.

The OEM spring rates and shock valving are probably different, at least in the front, to support the extra weight of the V6. Check the Honda part numbers.

Aftermarket parts are more likely to be universal. Konis can handle more of a beating than OEM shocks.

I wonder if companies say their aftermarket parts are good for the 4 cylinder models only because they see the factory part numbers differ, or because they feel they can make more money if they limit the parts to 4cyl and 6cyl models respectively. If you have a V6, you might convince yourself that you have to spend $800 on a $500 set of Konis, because you need the "V6" models...

Yes Deev the OEM shocks share the same part number as well except for the middle part which describes the chassis IIRC.

          Accord 93 L4 - 51605/SM1/A02 - Strut Unit Frt R

You're absolutely right on the V6 having different valving and spring rate to support the heavier V6 engine.

I also found out that according to hondaautomotiveparts.com , the CD5 springs are made by Mitsubishi.

So far only the shocks and springs are busted , I'm not sure about other suspension components. (IE. Camber kits , control arms , etc)

Yeah, the middle numbers are the chassis. So I guess they are the same. Good job!

I was too lazy to search myself...
