ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Small Crack on Windshield

Ooooook I don't know who fucking did it, but Dam you lil shit head turd of a kid. How about I throw rocks at ur face!

A small rock was thrown from the park, and landed where?

Ding ding, on my windshield. Now I have a lil dime size crack on the passender side. Thanks a lot.
Now imma have 2 make a thin rubber protecter for my window, so this won't happen again.

Question is can I go to advance or some where and buy a silicone to inject in the window to at least stop it from spreading, have a feeling this 1 would!

Was quoted 95 from a glass store, ya imma pay 95 beans for them 2 do that, wait wait, wait, let me just pull the cash from my bushes made out of money out front for this. Come on.

There gotta be a diy thing I can do.

I've always heard that clear nail polish will help stop it from spreading.

if is a crack you can also use a glass cutter to make a small crack to the opposite direction from what you have received to stop the one you have received.. the best is go to glass repair shop.. for glass silicone inject, im not sure you can apply it yourseft.. i think they put this with a high pressure machine...

My grandpa uses contact cement in little stone chips to keep them from spreading.

I think that's to stop the windshield from crack more.

When i had a windsheild installed, dood only charged 100 bucks because i supplied the windshield. The guy noticed a small rock chip and applied something to it for free since i paid in cash.

The windshields I had to have replaced in my B4000 and Jetta were $250 and $225 installed.

I'd rather spend $95 to stop a crack from spreading.

You can buy DIY kits for filling cracks in windshields, but they aren't cheap from what I recall. It basically consists of a device that creates a vacuum on the crack, to pull the air out so you can inject the crack repair material and so it completely fills the crack and seal it.

                Look it up man

I only carry basic liability insurance on my older cars, so I have to pay out of pocket for everything.

I've got full coverage on the Mazda because it's financed, but I'm not sure if my insurance covers windshields. Seems like every other car on the road in Alberta has a fucked up windshield.
