ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    maaco paint job ??

hey whats up guys my CB needs paint its a 91 dx four door. now it has no rust what so ever!! . so my friend at work said to go to maaco now i hear alot of people say bad and good things about this company. does anyone know or have any experience with them . or even know a place in CT(Connecticut) that does good paint jobs by this company. thanks

i hear good and bad things as well. a friend of mine had his integra painted there and they did a pretty good job considering it only cost $750 to have it done. he had it painted the stock melano Red again, but about 2 years later it started to lose its shine on the hood, roof, and trunk and it started to turn a little pinkish. but then again we live in Arizona and the sun takes a toll on paint.

if you're just looking to get a decent paint job for a good price, i would go for it

Maaco shops are all independently owned, so the quality varies from shop to shop. There are a dozen of them near me, but I picked the one with the best reputation. I was happy with the paint, both times i had my car done (the rust repair that they did was another story... it failed both times.)

Check out their work, especially cars that are getting the same paintjob that you'll be getting (I've always gotten the $500 job, but for $250 because I had it done in the wintertime, when they run sales.) Expect tp shell out a few hundred for prep as well... don't skimp on the prep!

I rattle caned my car and it came out perfect save for the roof. It was really windy out. But I agree. Wash, prime, and sand your car and do the 250. It'll turn out ok.

You get what you pay for generally..
So it's really up to you if you want a place known for inferior workmanship to work on your car, especially for paint..

macco paint job right here on my accord, just depends on the painter. If they know what they're doing then it can turn out decent.

Yea not bad for 2yrs my cousin paid 700 for a paint job on his cb and had to take it back more then 5 times for them to fix flaking! Also the guy who prepped it at macco didnt clean it up before painting so there was lots of dust in the paint n fish eyes in the clear for not wet sanding n buffing after!

Depends where you go every shop and worker is different! Plus added experiance workets woth years in is a plus! go there talk to manager, ask to look at some cars, tell him you want your car painted but skeptical of how itll come out! Look good at the work ser if you like but remember you get what you pay for!

You get what you pay for. I got my integra done in Hamden few years back, had about 4 quarter size rust spots and no real damage besides a black hood and i paid $700. Got single stage repaint, body was bondo and fiberglass and it had a 2 imperfections (someone bumped into it and a drip)

                            Before

                            AFTER

the masking job was about 8/10 but at the same time i saw a few other cars there that did have an amazing paint job. My biggest complaint was that i did not get oem color
