ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

All S2000s are convertibles... so any hard top is merely a removable top that is clamped to the car. It wouldn't hold a bike rack. Anyone who tries to put a bike rack on an S2000 was probably dropped on their head as an infant.

Dunno about the hardtop... but this is pretty cool (since he actually uses it)

Weird... but yeah, at least that's there for the function, not the "cool factor". He'd probably be better off with a 2-bike rear rack, though!

the roof is the safest place for bikes.. I wouldn't want a pair (or 3, or 4) $3,000 bikes chillin' behind my back bumper....... Get rear-ended, then have the possibility of those bikes not being covered by insurance.....(yeah I know, you can still roll the car over, run it into the garage, drive through, etc.)

a little :off topic: here but yesterday I saw a Del Sol with a 14ft ladder on its roof...

I would think if you get rear-ended, bikes on the roof would probably be launched off.

Though that's true. A serious cyclist would potentially have more money in his bikes than in the car! (if those bikes on the Miata were worth $3000 each, they're basically EACH worth more than the car itself!)

I would think that a serious cyclist would have a vehicle that is well-suited to transporting their bikes, though.
I mean, it would be like a harpist buying a Smart ForTwo.

naw, they wouldn't come off if you got rear ended, or if you hit something.

I've had about $7,000 worth of bikes on the roof my my sedan. I used to race NCAA Division II all over the southeast. (when there wasn't room in the mini-bus and trailer I drove the sedan loaded up with bikes and people. There was someone else in the south east conference that had a CB, 9293 LX sedan, he would carry 6 bikes on the roof, and 4 on the back, with 4/5 people in the car...... how do you spell overloaded? i can only imagine his fuel economy...

                  and I digress.

                    I agreed!

I have both and the rear rack are way easier to put bike up and off vs the roof.

ugh roof racks. Not even cool for carrying stuff. I cannot wait to remove mine from my wagon, I have used it once in the 8 years I have owned the car.

One of the first body repairs I did to my Malibu wagon was remove the beat up factory roof rack and fill the holes left behind.
