ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Back in my day, telling beginners to search was offensive. Just sayin...

He provided a link to the J-swapped CB7... so he didn't just say "search". Out of the 3 replies in this thread, his is the ONLY one that helps. The other two posts are absolutely worthless in this thread.
Let's let the moderators worry about enforcing the rules, shall we?

Well, seeing as how I have a J-series, I'll share what I know...

Ive seen J32s in Integras so there's probably no reason it cant be done in a CB. Will it be easy? No. Will it be cheap? Probably not. And getting the motor and tranny is just the start. Depending on which motor/tranny combo you get and what year it is, you'll have to watch out for the same problems we have; bad trannies.

Any J-series will be ODB-II. There's problem #1. Converting is fun, kids! Then getting mounts made/fabbed. Making room in the bay. Aligning exhaust.

If I were gonna do it, Id go J32 and probably a 6spd. Or a newer (04+) auto tranny.

K-series swaps have been done and are the up-and-up. Its gotta be a matter of time before J-series are going in.

Ooh, and dont forget suspension. Those J32s are heavy bitches. Id imagine swapping CG components over to a CB wouldnt be too hard, but I cant say for certain. I know in the Integras, that front end sits mighty low.

Back in your day there probably werent 13 million pages of the same thing like there are now. I posted this AFTER I searched. I plugged in J32 swap and got 2 or 3 pages about j32 swaps. Its how I got the link I posted, if the op would have done the same he wouldnt have needed to ask the question.

Thanks for your concern, but like Deev said, I didnt just say hey noob use the fucking search button, I did answer his question with a link, and a little needling. But like I stated above, I searched myself before posting, and I was amazed at how much info for J swaps was already here, some dating back as far as '05. So this discussion has been well documented, hence me telling him to use the search button.

That's exactly how it should be. We don't condone spoon-feeding, but at the same time, if you are going to post at all, answer the question. dj_ender, you did exactly what I would hope ANYONE would do.

Just saying "search" is ban-worthy, because it makes the thread worthless. I can't tell you how many times I've gone on Honda-Tech and searched, only to find 30 threads... 29 of which have 10-20 replies, all saying nothing but "search"... and one thread that has sketchy, useless information that doesn't really answer the question at all! Yes, people should search... but let's make sure that they find their answer when they do!

We do have a lot of J swap info, and the one you linked to is the ONLY completed J swap into a CB that I'm aware of (the car has since been parted out... so to my knowledge, there are no J swapped CBs in existence at the moment.) Lots of people have researched, but the amount of custom work (as MikeW said) makes it a fairly involved an expensive process, especially if you don't have the tools and knowhow to do most or all of that custom work yourself!
