Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    post count go to 0?

    all my threads dissapeared and i have a 0 for my post count whats up with that? we still updating?

    We lost 2 months worth of data in the crash, and reverted to a backup form October. Your posts are gone.

        The server broke. RAID card failed, and both hard drives died. Total data loss, and the most recent backup we had was from October. Something screwed up the November backup, and we were literally going to take a December backup just before the server ate it. The downtime was largely due to trying to diagnose the problem, assess the damage, recover the data (which wasn't possible, it seems), and obtaining new hard drives, which are apparently in short supply these days due to flooding in Taiwan.

          Hey as long as the site is finally back up I could care less how many posts I lost thanks for the time and effort restoring the site Deev. You and whoever was involved.

            jeez talk about murphys law! well im glad ive finally got my cb7 home back. my cb7 project may have been completely replaced with a EF Si hatch for now but this is still where my heart lies.

            That computer crash might be one of the worst ive ever heard of too btw.

              Yeah, I don't know why everything went at the same time. We had the RAID setup to prevent data loss, though only on 2 drives (and by "we" I mean "they"... it's Pandemic's computer, not mine! ) Still, BOTH drives failing at the same time is pretty extreme. Part of me wonders if the power supply from the data center that houses the server wasn't faulty, sending a hell of a shock to the system... or if the failed RAID card killed the attached drives.


              Until now, the site restoration was all on Pandemic. Now I'm doing my part by restoring lost Premium memberships, unbanning people that are no longer banned, and answering all the "wtf happened" questions.
              Sucks to lose the data, but we should be fine from here on out. Pandemic is working on a much more secure solution to our problems. Hopefully acclude91 will work his magic once again and do all the neat little upgrades he did just before the crash... because he did a lot of really good things that were all lost. (and those things were definitely NOT the cause for the failure, as they've all been done on CD5tuner.com with no issues whatsoever.)

                I know like one day I was on cb7 tuner then the next it was gone. And I saw that cd5tuner was all good. I thought you hated us or something deev

                  CD5tuner is on a different server, for that very reason. I don't want both sites going down at the same time!
