ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Best HIDS to buy?

Hey guys I was just wondering what you think is the best and semi priced HID kits. I was wondering because I want to get a set to put on my cb. I tried to search but didn't really find anything. If you could help me I would be appreciated. Thanks

Nice to see another WI guy.

I would recommend DDM's HIDs. Lifetime warranty and very affordable. I have a set and they've never done me wrong.

HOWEVER, their customer service is a little difficult to deal with. My HIDs bit the dust awhile back, and Im yet to get ahold of them.

^^ even so they are so cheap it doesnt even matter. silverstars were about 20$ a bulb and they blow usually annually. a new PAIR of bulbs 15$ OR A ballist 15$

But when you have to buy both bulbs and/or both ballasts..it adds up.

I think I might purchase @ander but what is the "error eliminator"? does this eliminate the flickering you get from some HID kits?

Ok thanks guys. Does the bulb type and wattage matter or are they different for every car?

You don't need the error eliminator. Pretty sure that's just so the car doesn't throw codes.

I'd go with 35w (trust me it's plenty bright) and you'll need a 9006 bulb. Then whatever temperature you want. 5000k is pure white. They have a little chart thing for the colors.

Do I get the "HID Harness" and the "mounting brackets" or just the brackets?

i would recommend the wiring harness. it is recommended so the oem wiring for the lights does not burn. It will keep your oem wires nice and safe.

I know member's here are going to warn you that HID's are going to blind other drivers with the stock housing, which it will. But just do yourself and other's around you a favor and lower the headlight beam so you blind people less. Just some advice. Take it or leave it.
