ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Your not going to get sponsored. Those days are long gone. I get all my audio equipment free, but I run the shop I get it from, and it's always for sale. About the only perk you may get is stuff at cost, and cost is what you find it on eBay for

Like said above, those days are over. They were everywhere in the late 90s, early 2000s. Pretty much the only sponsorship you might possibly get would be if you have a complete show car.

Nobody is going to sponsor Joe Blow off the street in his rusty clapped out Honda who wants everything for nothing.

I had a sponsor in 2006. Ricks Car Audio. Only for one year tho. I got a windshield banner, free 5-1/4" Alpine door speakers and 20% off everything in the store. And i HAD to compete in every sound comp in my area. I got to keep 75% of my winnings. This was in my 3rd Gen Accord BTW.

If i hadnt spent $2100 on subs amps and a custom box i dont think he ever would have done it.

That's not really a sponsorship...it is but, it isn't. Place still made money off your purchases, and you footed the bill for all the competitions and gave them a ton of free advertisement. I do the se thing at my shop for people I know go to a lot of shows

Still pretty good for a 16 year old who just got his DL. Ive never heard of anyone around here being sponsered by a company and not paying for anything.

^^thats basically how you get sponsored. Build it, show it, and hope someone will jump on your band wagon. Theses days, that still might not get you sponsored, it might get you a windshield banner and paid way into a show.

That's exactly it. Everyone seems to think sponsorship is the way to build a car (and ripoff companies like carsponsorships.com preyed on that.) Companies that offer sponsorship will only sponsor cars that are already worthy of drawing attention to their products. Cars that are active in the show and/or race circuits. Cars that are owned by high-profile people in the scene (car club owners, forum owners, popular blog authors or contributing magazine journalists, people that have already gotten featured in a magazine or major website, etc...)
10 years ago, it might have been easier to get sponsored, because the import scene was exploding. A car painted a bright pastel color with vinyl decals, running huge 18" chrome wheels (that was huge back then! ), rocking every APC part on the market, and bumping a cheap audio system was considered "extreme" enough back then. Then, you say "hey, I dropped $2000 into my $8000 Civic, LOVE ME!!!" and they would.
Now, you have to be pretty extreme to get sponsored, and it helps if you're on top of an emerging trend. Nobody wants to sponsor a "hellaflush" car with a bike rack on it. That's SO 2011 .
