ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    New guy

Hello all. Discovered this site by accident and I am happy that I did. I have a 91 4D EX AT that has been in my family since new. Currently has 199,700 miles on it and looking forward to turning 200k!! No major mods, obviously wheels from a 95 EX, clear marker/turn lens, k&n type air filter.

I stumbled upon the site because I am contemplating doing some mods on her. I actually work for a Honda dealer and we have a donor 92 ACC 2D MT that I have been considering stealing the MT out of. Got to thinking that as long as I was swapping the tranny might as well investigate a new motor as well. I was thinking about doing a H22 but then found some info about H23A Blue Top motors and I think that is going to be the motor I go with if I do anything.

My background in Hondas is more on the collision parts side vs performance mods, so I have a lot to learn. Fortunately I work with some great techs and have friends in the industry who are experts in these things. But I am looking forward to learning new things on this site and hopefully applying that info to my car.

Hmm picture reduction caused it to be grainy, but you get the idea.

So you work for a dealer that uses a used car to take parts from? Is this an industry norm for older cars at dealers? How would a dealer charge for something like that?

My Members' Ride Thread - It's a marathon build, not a sprint. But keep me honest on the update frequency!

I wouldn't say it was the norm, but it does happen.

In this situation the car was traded in with no title because the dealership owner knew the customer. Since it has no title it can never be sold to be on the road again. The car has been sitting for over a year, so I went to the dealership owner and asked him what his plans were for the car, and told him I was interested in possibly converting my car into a MT and wanted to use the 92 as a donor for all the parts I might need. I offered to pay him for the parts, but he told me just to take the whole car! So, now I have a free car from which to pluck everything I need to do the tranny swap.

As a matter of fact, the wheels and the Honda moonroof visor came off of older Hondas that we traded for and ended up wholesaling. I swapped my ugly OE 91 4D EX wheels for the 95 4D EX wheels which I have always thought were great looking wheels. And I simply asked the sales manager if I could have the visor off of a trade before they sold it to a wholesaler and he said sure.

wow, really clean car to start with!

Lucky you have a donor car just waiting to give you parts.

I picked my current sedan up because I wanted to try a new platform.
Now I'm thinking of getting another one to test ideas on and have a donor.

Here in Texas these cars are very cheap and there seems to be a large number of them. Keep us updated on mods.
