ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

A record keeper of sorts. My 93 EX

Figure I'd post up here be the introduction forum. So here it goes. Picked up a 93 ex, 5 mt for 1500 bucks. It's really clean, leaks some oil, someone swapped a a1 into using the a6 manifolds.

My goals for this car is 125-130whp & 35mpg highway @70mph using mostly oem parts. I've picked up a full h23 manifold & throttle body so ill be swapping it over and doing the "double stack". Will be plugging the egr with an aluminum can, as well as deleting the coolant line a on the "fitv". It needs to have a 100% reliability and drive ability.
I plan to swap in the a6 cam I just picked up. And probably a cam gear and stock sized light weight pulleys. I have a full gasket kit & timing belt, water pump, tstat & hoses. It's all going on this coming weekend. I'll be pulling the balancing shaft belts at the same time.

    So mod list will be,
First & foremost 100% reliable maintenance no oil leaks ect
    17* (+2 over stock)
    A6 cam w/ adjustable gear
H23 manifold 62mm prelude throttle body double stacked Iabs. Iabs will be working. (Tuned to open around 3000-3200rpm)
    A6 cast 4-2-1 header
2.5" collector & cat into stock EX exhaust
Factory ported air box with a green filter
    Balancing shaft delete
    Lightweight stock sized pulleys

Headed out to grab my gasket kit now so when I get back ill post some pictures. One questions I've got is the stock a6 cam will pull to around 6200rpm or so. So for the manifold should I just go full long h23 runner & double stacked, or use the shorter a6 runners & double stacked with h23 plenum?
I'm thinking the h23 will give me more useable power since the car won't really be revved past 65-6800?

    #2
Stock pile of parts waiting. 3 qrts honda brand mtf.
    H23 62mm tb
H23 black box, iab spacer, h23 plenum and low runners came with injectors to.. They any better than my stock f22a6 ones?
    Failsafe 180* tstat
Muzimo auto "evergreen" gasket kit.will not use the head gasket but other gaskets seem to have good reviews
    Aisin water pump
Oem honda timing belt (deleting balancing belt)
Tamiya yellow & amber paint for tinting lights/fogs

    Not pictured is
    10w30 valvoline syntech
    Bosch oil filter
    50/50 Prestone
    New ngk plugs
    New rotor
    2.5" cat and adapter/collector

Now my biggest question is should I run the h23 longer runners or a6 shorter runners? I'll be double stacking either way. I'm thing the h23 will give me more useable power on a stock a6 cam shaft? I believe it falls off around 6200rpm?

I believe the plan is pull motor & trans as 1 piece & check it all out. Do all ten gaskets outside the car, degrease & clean the bay & motor. & then paint the motor silver for the head, intake & block. And then cover @ pan will be black.

We'll guys did the timing belt & all those gaskets & cut balancing shaft belt ect. Timing marks are lined up, #1 cyl. Closest to timing belt is at tdc, cam (a6) is at tdc. And it now appears I have no spark? Car will crank for days and sounds normal just won't fire.

When turning on the key the check engine light is on. I jumped the blue connector for codes and the light stays solid. Never blinks.
What am I doing wrong? There's for sure no spark.

Could the distributor be on wrong or something? The flywheel marks don't line up but they just don't sometimes from what I've read because it can be put on differently when doing a clutch swap ect.
How do I test the coil? The ignitor & the dizzy? I'm so lost here I've got no idea what to do with this honda and I don't have a bunch of cash to just throw at it till it works.

So I have access to a socketed p06. Is just need it tuned for my f22. However it won't start my car either which is should. So it's got to be wiring or coil or distributor.
Gonna hit the yards tomorrow for a coil & dizzy.

Well to tease you guys more lol. Car still hasn't started since I've done the timing belt, but I was told today that the headlights have a ground and since my headlights & bumper aren't on the car that it could be the reason it's not firing. I've done a new dizzy, coil, ecu, fuses, main relay nothing helped lol. So I've been knees deep in trying on I figure that out.
I did however pick up a full rear wagon storage setup for free & its blue matching my interior I also got some stock 94 accord wheels that were painted so I'm gonna blast/strip em back to the stock finish.
And tonight I scored a full moog replacement front end setup tonight off craigslists for 110 bucks It's got upper control arms, lower ball joints and tie rod ends and it's all in packages still.
Before I get into replacing things I'll make sure I buy everything and do it all at once. I'll be purchasing a energy suspension bushing kit. I'd like to get new struts (koni yellows) . I plan to run my stock springs on the lower 15mm perch giving me about .5" of drop. I may eventually upgrade to a pro kit or h&r oe springs but this cars a daily that sees some sprinted driving. So no real need for anything to crazy outside of a very good shock setup. I'd also like to upgrade at least the rear sway. I think I read 6th gen accords rear sway bars bolt on? What about their fronts? Ours is 14mm those are 17mm for sedans. Coupes have 19mm from what I've read. Do these bolt onto our accords?

Oh, I'm no 5th or 6th generation Accord Specialist, nor am I that much of a 4rth generation Guru either.
I can't tell you what parts a 5th or 6th Gen will fit our CB's, I just know enough to keep my wagon as well a maintained DD that I can.

I'm sure someone will see your post and chime in on your questions regarding the fitments ..

And if I'm not mistaken, I know for a fact that I've moved my wagon around (driving it) without a bumper along with headlights .. I've never heard of that "ground."

See this is what I thought? There's only a few things that have happened during the lapse.
1st. I sprayed off my engine bay, but I bagged the alt, fuse blocks ect, so they couldn't get wet.
2nd. I did the timing belt & deleted the balancing shaft belt & installed the factory a6 cam. It's all timed up. Someone swapped in a a1 before I owned the car.
                      3rd. No spark no fuel.
4th. swapped over the dizzy & coil to see if that helped...nothing. Next tryed ecu. Still nothing. Swapped main relays. Even soldered the old one.

My ecu light stays solid when I turn on the key on but doesn't throw a. Code when I jumped the blue connector. According to this site it can only be 4 different things,
                      http://techauto.awardspace.com/ecu.html

                      Ecu ground
                      Dead ecu
                      Ecu not getting power
                      ecu not connecting with sensors.

Honestly at this point I'm gonna finish getting the car back together and probably have a local off this site stop by and check out the car.
Currently I got reinstall center console & headlights & bumper which Ill be finishing up tomorrow. I just can't believe I haven't figured this out yet honestly.

I can't believe no one who would know more about this hasn't chimed in yet.
If you're not getting spark OR fuel .. that's a "deep" issue for my lack of knowledge lol!
Not throwing any codes is also very mysterious.

Gonna be starting a build thread on this car shortly. Nothing major just small upgrades and fixes. We want to keep this car as a daily for a long long time.
