ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    car estimate help???

Hey guys I'm fairly new to the forums and have owned my 1990 cb7 for about 3 months now. (I wasn't sure where this thread would fit so I decided this is a reasonable category) Anyways sadly I have decided that being a full time student with a part time job isn't enough for me to start buidling my dream cb. So I'm going to finish building it to its stock originality! Now my main question is how can I estimate the value with it soon to be all original(plus full pioneer/Kenwood sub audio setup) and set to its best possible condition???

I'm not quite sure what you're asking. Most likely if I can't other people who may be able to help you don't as well.

depends where you live... might as well run an estimate on http://www.kbb.com/whats-my-car-worth/

they tend to baseline at 1000 if they are in fair running condition. More if its nice, less if its beat up.

"best possible condition" is extremely difficult. That means no dents, no dings, no scratches, no leaks, no noises, no fade on the paint, no fade on the upholstery, no stains anywhere on any interior surface... and mileage would need to be lower than average.
If you can't afford to modify it, you certainly can't afford to restore it to "best possible condition" (though i would truly like to see it... a restored CB is more impressive these days than a modified one!)

Don't ever expect to get more than $3000 for a CB7. $2000 is the going rate for very good ones these days, if you're lucky. $1000-$1500 is more likely. Many people today buy their CB7s for well under $1000, in varying condition. I've seen some very nice ones selling for $700-$800.
Don't forget... to you, it's a car with potential. To your buyer, it's an old fuel efficient beater. Most other CB enthusiasts aren't looking to spend lots of money on a new one, so even someone that appreciates it the way you do likely won't be willing to spend big bucks.

If you like it, and it's the car you truly want to build, hang onto it. Maintain it. Slowly restore it. Drive it, and keep it alive, until you're in a position to play with it. Just remember... these cars are not investments. Whatever money you put into it, you will not be getting back out of it.

I appreciate the advice and I really would love to keep it alive, it's just so dificult being as young as I am and having two project cars lol I think I'm going to just keep it going. My love for CBs continues to grow and for the conditions And price I got it for I don't think I'll find another like her. Thank you brutha!

I would say in another 15-20 years our cars in good condition might actually be worth a little more than 1-3k. Lets hope lol. I paid $1,500 for my coupe and its in pretty awesome shape i would say. Then a few months back I had a random stranger who was obviously a CB fan offer me 3k for it. He went on, and on , about how he used to work on them at Honda when the were new. It hard in my state to find a CB in good condition, so I can see why maybe he wanted to offer me the 3K. Personally if I had the money, I would pay 5k plus for a 100% mint un-touched, well taken care of coupe. But thats just me
For the love of god, STOP putting H.I.D's in stock housings!!! Projectors ONLY!!!
