yeah i promised myself i wouldnt rejoin the military unless i was an officer...now the hard part is figuring what branch

hmmm...my only dilemma right now is choosing what branch I want to go to back as. I did 4 years in the army ..hooah hooah...and now im out..i completed my associates in 1 year...so all i have now is to finish my bachelors in computer science...so i should be done with my degree in 2 years..maybe faster(thank you gi-bill)

lets see im stuck in decided whether to go army or airforce. Now i have done all that highspeed stuff like jump out of airplanes (airborne!)...and been to combat twice..been shot @ etc... etc.. but i think in the army you really dont use your brain that much..im not trying to go marines cuz they dont take prior service...and i dont want to go navy cuz i dont want to be stuck on some ship
Now the airforce..when you go to the ed center (education center) there classes are always packed. People in the AF are "soft"..lol...but they are for the most part smart..but they are pampered sons of bitches...

I have one month to decide whether im gonna go AF rotc... or back Army rotc..the major in army rotc wants me in his program because of my prior service...if i go back army im gonna probably go infantry...then switch up to the signal..if i go airforce then im gonna do something in the communications field

any branch of the military would look good on your resume especially if your an officer...i think in the AF if i go as an officer there ill have time to work on my masters degree...and live the pampered lifestyle...plus ill have time to work on my car and not be deployed in a hot zone somewhere for a year.....

i guess the army will always be apart of me...even if i go AF...the hard part is putting it behind me.......
now a lot of people say re-upping is hard....but i say re-joining the military is even harder imo

Become a soldier/citizen, go to drill one weekend a month & two weeks a year, and still recieve all of the above!

if your active maybe but not when ur in the reserves cause i dont get any of that
i get other stuff like nice GI Bill and 10,000 loan for skool but thats about it

i'm goin in right after I graduate from HS. Going in for 4 years as a crew chief and then get out and use the GI Bill for school. Plus we have this thing here only in illinois, Illinois veterens fund, that I can use in conjunction with the GI bill and go even farther in school. Oh yeah, specifically a Crew chief on fighters in the US Air Force. Family tradition played a role in that decision

Private contractors go over there and make over $100 grand a year untaxed. The military should be doing something to come close to them in terms of pay while in hazardous situations because of our jobs compared to theirs.

to think that "crap" doesn't currently occur, or that it never occurred is in fact "crap". besides, recognition that something actually occurred is not in and of itself racism, seeing as the definition of racism is a form of discrimination based on race predicated on a belief that one race is superior to one another. recognizing that unfortunate things happened in the past is quite appropriate. after all, if you don't understand where you come from, or where we've come from, you'll have no idea as to where you, or where we, are going.

add to that, my statement was in response to r33cb7's contention that the military is guaranteeing the freedoms of the people at home... my statement was to show the contradiction of such a statement. how is it possible for someone (an african-american soldier in world war 1, world war 2, the korean war) to guarantee something that they themselves were not guaranteed?
