ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    New car

I am looking into buying a new car. It is a 2001 Acura integra GSR. This is what it says in the car ad.
Here is a steal of a deal (bank repo) offered by one of Spokanes most favored Credit Unions. This car only has 56,657 miles on it. It's a 2001 Acura Integra 3dr 4cyl GS-R coupe. The VIN# is JH4DC23991S004437. It has black leather interior which is in excellent shape except for a dime size tear in the rear seat which is shown in pictures. It also has a DOHC, body kit. NADA value on this car is actually $13,875. The car does have a rebuilt title so it is only $7900. It has a couple of other simple fixes that must be done also; the driver side window doesn't roll down, the hatch won't open, and the AC blows cold. The bank owns this car and they are ready to sell. If you have any additional questions please email us.

I am wondering, first what it means to have a rebuilt title. And is lace like that??? The VIN at car fax or another place like that??? Any problems with that year of car, or anything I should know about before buying it????? Any suggestions, comments or pointers would be greatly appreciated..

Here's my feeling on that car and others like it:

She's likely been ridden hard and put away wet. Since she hasn't known love it'll take a lot to get 'er presentable.

That's a buttload of abuse for a car w/ only 56k on the odo. Why step into that? A GSR badge won't impress your friends for very long when the window and hatch are fucked up.

"Rebuilt title" probably infers a salvage title.

These things sound too good to be true because they are. Don't go near it unless you are already very familiar with not only the type of car but what's involved in making them whole. At the very least spend the $25 to run that VIN through Carfax.
