Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

The world is not slowing down....the US economy is. Inflation, war, oil/resources, etc. The Federal debt is pretty high too. I hope the new president can find some sort of resolution for this.
The government is partly to blame for inflation also. IIRC, they dumped a whole bunch of money into the economy, raised minimum wage, and spent money they don't have.
People are trying to save their money also. It's a good thing but also leads more inflation also(less money circulating in the system). This is why lots of business are slowing down. It should start picking up again though....hopefully.Last edited by K2e2vin; 01-25-2008, 03:06 AM.-Kevin

We're getting pwnd by china. America made its foundation on manufacturing. We can't anymore though because it costs too much. We are a new country. Honestly we have basicaly finished expanding and growing and have used up our resources. China is here to take our place. Eventualy the world economy will be balanced.

...Eventually, but not any time soon.
China is indeed a powerful country, props to them! If anything, Unions and general ethics is what's sort of killing the economy. Everybody wants to get paid more for doing nothing. There are unions that genuinely try to help the workers, but sometimes they ask for too much without considering what it will do to the company.-Kevin

There are too many factors that contribute to the decline of the US economy. War is one of them, soldiers and weaponry cost money. The value of the US dollar declining has also shifted the economy. One would think since the cost of goods for the US is cheaper it would attract more consumers but no. Oil prices are also another contributor. Spending power is less and debt keeps buying up. The US oil/gas prices have only seen a small increase when compared to the other parts of the world and the Americans are already complaining like its the end of the world. If only they could experience what other countries are paying.
Its a whole chain effect that will spread to other countries as well.
China is having growing pains. We are not finished with our expansion and growth. China and India are thriving and growing at an alarming rate but that does not mean it would replace the US.Originally posted by F22HBWe're getting pwnd by china. Here is a small tip, the European and Asian market will go up on Friday (1/25). Check out the US market for 1/24. Its a reaction, not the best example since its only one instance but there have been other cases. Just wait until 3 weeks before and after China's Olympic and you would see.

on top of that...
on top of that retention in the military is low. Not to many people staying in. Especially since the budget is still waiting to be approved. But the military is no longer giving bonus' to reenlist and they cut our pay increase.
So dealing with bullshit (personally speaking) being told I have from 2 hours - 3 days to get ready to leave on deployment, and they wanna cut bonus', no wonder people dont wanna stay in.
The best part is gas prices are plumetting!
another thing that not a lot of people realize is that other countries are starting to become way ahead of us, the mentality where they are way behind us is gone. They have always been up there with technlogy, its the funding thats the problem.
Well now it seems like we funded there programs, so shitty to say USA is turning into the little guy. Which I think will be better for us, unless someone wants to react on our past experiences.
Im done now!

what you couldnt do with $0.
i think this war is to blame. you have to look at how much this crap is costing the US. gas for the tanks, trucks, planes, helicopters. then you gotta worry about weapons, ammunition and all that crap. if the US would stop concentrating on war so much it'd be able to do something better with the money instead of put the US in debt.

Ok but 600 isnt doing too much nowadays. It can pay half the rent... big dealOriginally posted by Shadow1what you couldnt do with $0.
The dollar is already weak why weaken it further by giving away this free money. Let whatever's gonna happen happen. There's always gonna be ups and downs. I dont think giving away money is the answer and even if it was 600 is not stretching very far.

War economies are usually strong... who knows, without the war, we might be worse! This war isn't exactly like WW2 either...
In the 90s, we had a boom of jobs, education, and technology (which was at the heard of the jobs and education). The technology has plateaued, at least in terms of "wow, that's new and so much better!", and things are leveling off. The government spent a lot of money, and it didn't come back as expected. The global economy is also growing. Japanese products, once considered cheaply made, are now among the world standard. European products are still popular. Korean products have increased in popularity and quality considerably. China is growing at a rapid rate. With a population that size, China with the economic strength that we've enjoyed over the past few decades will be a monster. India has grown significantly in the intellectual product arena... engineers, researchers, computer techs... As of now, they do it all better and cheaper. Soon, it won't be cheaper, but still better... and they'll be a powerhouse as well.
The US is no longer the big dog in the global economy. We're Wal Mart... and we're witnessing the openings of Target and K-Mart right next door... we're taking the hit.

Why is the economy in the shape it's in now:
1. Banks lending out colorful loans and people defaulting on those loans
2.While productivity in the US is among the highest in the world, it comes at a big price.
3. We do A LOT more importing than exporting
4. Outside investors are selling the Dollar, for a more stable currency (Euro, Pond etc.)
5. Investors in the US are putting money into outside markets, instead of US markets for fear of weakening US dollar.
6. 1.3 TRILLION DOLLARS INTO THE 'IRAQ' WAR!
7. Frivolous taxes to small business owners...
8. TOO many Tax Breaks for Big Corporations.
9. Not enough cheap labor
10. People aren't buying.14 Ford Focus ST - stock(ish) - E30 Tune + Green Filter =
