ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

pspec made one for our cars. I believe they no longer produce them. You can find used ones if you look. The Prelude shifter made by 4bidden is also a common one to use... minor mods, and it'll work. There are also old modified stock shifters made by Fushigi RES and yeamans17. I'm currently using a Fushigi myself (the shifts got too notchy, and I put it back to the stock setting)

Neuspeed and OBX (among others, I'm sure) make adapters that do the same thing as the full shifters. All any of them do is change the location of the cables on the shifter.

You can also make your own for about $3.50 using parts from any hardware store. Look through the DIY section of this site for the instructions... there are two DIYs out there.

From my experience, ALL of them make your shifter whack the side of the console. Also from my experience, ALL of them will make your shifting notchy.

I've never experienced it. Our cable shifter setup is lousy, IMO. It's the only thing I prefer in Civics and Integras.

If you get it out of a 94 body style prelude it bolts right in to ours. Its not extremely short but definitely a upgrade. Doesn't stick up as high and is a little shorter throw than our accord shifter.

It doesn't really sit right without some creativity. Flipping the shifter plate usually works.

I gave my 94 Prelude shifter that came with my swap to my friend and he used it.

That won't help a notchy shifter.

Even with it back to stock, mine is all screwy. Not sure if it's the cables or the shifter forks... or something else... I can barely rev-match to downshift to 3rd, because of the notchiness (my 12lb flywheel doesn't help either!)

i contacted both pspec and 4 bidden. pspec isn't producing them anymore but he does still have some. he told me they were like 215ish somewhere in there and what he don't sell, i was going to post on ebay. well this was almost a month ago and i haven't seen them on ebay. 4 bidden, i contacted someone on here and they told me all you have to do is a bucket drop in order to clear the console.

There are 4bidden units on ebay for 100. Might be copies but they say its because they overstocked dunno. They are only available in grey though.

yes thank you i know that mod well. sarcasm duly noted.

i probably need a new clutch and linkage so that certainly doesnt help. i was just looking for shorter throws and improved feel. thanks.

is that before or after the h22 swap your signature alludes to?

It was after the swap. I tried making my own by cutting and welding kinda same concept as a civic shifter but didn't like it at all. So I adjusted the cables to make it shorter and not a good idea either. If you get any kinda of adapter I think it will make it even more notchy because it is a cable set up and buts them in a bind. So I just ended up getting new cables and re routing them the best I could to make them not bind and the prelude bucket and shifter. Its the smoothest I have ever had it but with a cable set up thats what you get.
