Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

    turbo h22a question?

i just installed a 69mm tb on my turbo h22a accord.the car boost great but above 4000 rpm in 3rd,4th and 5th gear the cars power kinda dies off a little like it's not gettin enough fuel or air i don't know which one.i have to ease my foot off the pedal a little and it seems to make decent power when i do that above 4000rpm.the boost gauge shows it's makin boost but my a/f fuel gauge isn't showing anything past lean.sometimes my a/f fuel gauge shows nothing at all,at first i thought it was the gauge but i don't think that is what it is.i have a p28 ecu chipped with a crome pro base map/before changin tb.my question is has my ecu lost it's map or is this a map sensor problem.also at idle rpms go up and down from 750 to 1000 rpm, sometimes 500 to 1000rpm.my h22a is built with pistons ,rods,720cc injectors(10lb spring) ,all the good stuff.i want to correct this problem before i take it to the shop for tuning.i tried to explain the best way i could.

Spend the money and retune. Running on basemaps kill turbo motors.

Yeah, if it's running on a basemap, you shouldn't be driving it much at all... CERTAINLY not going over 4000rpm!

Get it properly tuned and see if the problem persists. The issue may be in the tune, or lack thereof... OR... the worst case... you've already caused damage to your motor by running on a basemap.

            will tune asap

the car boost fine it's just with new tb(big bore 74.5 inlet/69mm outlet) at 4000rpm and above i have to feather the pedal.never use to be like that dump pedal and off we go,before tb and new clutch.i barely drive this car engine is newly rebuilt and t3/t4 turbo is new.

But you're running on a basemap? You never had it properly tuned? Just plugged in the ECU and drove?

I think you're missing the point everyone is trying to make. You're looking at your TB to be the problem, and something tells me that it's not the issue. If you've been driving on a basemap, you may have damaged your engine. If anything, the larger TB would've only decreased the already marginal driveability of your engine. The basemap wasn't set up for your engine in the first place, so adding yet another part to the intake system will increase that gap between proper performance and what that basemap is set to do.

For example... when I convert my 86 Accord LXi to OBD1, I'll be using an Integra LS map as a basemap. Now you KNOW that 1.8L engine doesn't have a proper map for a 2.0L... with totally different requirements... Basemaps are just that... basemaps. They get the car running so they can be tuned, as you can't really tune a car that isn't running. (well, not unless you know what the engine needs to get running beforehand... not many do). Whoever sold you your ECU did a poor job of explaining that, it seems. IMO, it should be the duty of any modified ECU seller to inform their buyers that a basemap is NOT to be driven on!

                  i got the point

i understand what everyone is sayin but before i could get a chance to have it tuned some other problem came up like my clutch.i just had it changed to suit this set up(wuz stock)now i can devote my money towards tuning.i've known about basemaps and turbos.i rebuilt my h22a because it blew the head gasket with stock ecu(no chip)i did not blow it that was the dirty work of the shop my car wuz at but that is another story(court issue).the basemap is the best that car has run its how i got that car out that shop.i just hope when i do take it to a legit shop and have it tuned that issue is resolved.

You ran turbo with a stock ECU? If the head gasket was all you blew, you're damn lucky!

Tune it. A larger TB bore isn't going to kill your power above 4000... it HAS to be the tune. If a proper tune doesn't fix it (and you won't get a proper tune if there IS something wrong) then we'll try to find another cause.

Just for reference... what are you running? What parts are installed? As in... everything... internals, injectors, fuel pump, etc...

Ok, cool. Aside from running on the basemap, the rest of your build seems to have some good thought behind it. Get that thing tuned, and as long as you haven't fried anything inside the motor by running on that basemap, you should be alright.

You're running the Mahle Gold Series pistons with the FRM sleeves? I've been waiting for someone on here to do that! How much boost are you running?
