ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

REMOVE BATTERY FROM CAR BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO DO FUEL PUMP!
      Method 1:
      Fuel pump (using floor jacks)
Jack up car, put on jacks, MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS SECURE!!!
Remove the bushings fromt he exhaust from the midpipe to the muffler (no need to seperate the gaskets or anything)
Remove heat shields so they dont get bent up.
Remove Fuel tank straps and keep tank held up, drop tank down slowly, remove all hoses and such, remove fuel pump (around 8-10 10MM bolts)
      Install is reverse of this.

Method 2: (mostly used method if you dont have a car hoist.)
Remove back seat (2 14MM? bolts)
There SHOULD be an access plate for the fuel pump there, I didnt do it in my accord this way however, i didnt see the access plate in mine as well when i droped the tank, so PLEASE check if you have the plate as it would probably be easier.)
remove fuel line for the pump, and the electrical wires to the pump.
remove any kinda of dirt from the top of the pump (dont get any in the tank)
pull fuel pump and replace with new.
      Installation is reversal.

If you run into any problems, you should have beside you at all times, a Haynes manual. Most of the info however is on the site.

If there is anything i missed, please add to it ^_^

Im not sure about the 5speeds, but i know the Auto's are the same all the way from 90-93 (at least). Just compare the bolt up patern, i would assume it is the same though. (search www.rockauto.com for prices and PART NUMBERS, if the part numbers match, they are the same.)

The only difference is going to be between an automatic and manual transmisson.

starter is easy to change. I did have to remove my battery and battery tray to get my fat hands in there. but that is just 5 bolts to loosen...no biggie.

Top only... The starter is right on top of the transmission on the auto's... im not sure where it is on the 5speeds, but it should be close to the same thing.

I have a two door as well. I'm very interested to see if the pump is accessible from inside. I'm sure the underside of the car is a rusty seized up nightmare.... but I think my car needs a fuel pump or filter.

The starter is easy to change. When you're going to replace a fuel pump in your car, be sure to install a new fuel filter and/or fuel pump strainer. Likewise to my Acura NSX water pump, the first time I change it I met some difficulties too.
