ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

pls help with my 90 accord ex

ok so i ive wanted a 1990-1992 accord or prelude since i was 15 and i bought one a month ago( a 1990 honda accord ex) that i drove 65 miles before it started acting up i have not been able to drive it since. there were a couple of problems i fixed. Firest ill tell you what i replaced then ill tell you what its doing. Ok ive replace idol air control valve, fuel filter, istributor, ignition rotor, a vaccume hose on the pcv valve, main relay, and a fuse or two. The spark plugs are all gapped at the right range and my wires were new when i bought it. now it has been stalling out even if im accelerating, in park , in drive, in nuetral it just kills itself, my rpms in jump all over the place normally between 1000-2000 im not sure the idol is set to the right speed though. after changing the distributor (its the last thing i did) i ran the car (siting) in different gears for an hour and it did not kill itself, however the rpms were going crazy mainly in park and neutral and the engine seemed to be surging like it was accelerating itself. i have a manuel on how to fix it but cant find this exact problem in it and im driving myself insane trying to figure it out any help would be greatly appreciated i love the car and would really love to drive it without being worried its going to leave me stranded lol thank you.

it could be your igniter since you said that your RPMs are all over the place.

It also sounds like you may have a vacuum leak, causing a high idle, and the ECU to try to correct it, leading to a surging idle. Check for vacuum leaks.

The igniter and the vacuum leak are very good possibilities. Your TPS may be shot as well, as I've heard some funky symptoms with that.

The first thing to do is make sure your grounds are all where they should be (the main ones are on the fender and under the thermostat housing). Rule out grounds, check for a vac leak, replace the igniter, and possibly replace the TPS (use a hacksaw to make slots in the screws... they look like rivets, but they're just screws).

If none of that works, we'll dig deeper.

mine is doing the same thing. my car goes from 2000 down to 1000. the only thing that is wrong with my car according to the mechanics is i need to changed my whole timing set up. the belt gaskets. cover and etc. also the water pump. and it only does it when it is in park and neutral...could be another possibilty. hows the oil level? do you lose oil a lot and quickly? cause thats where my oil was going and leaking from there
