ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

check your grounds, main relay, definiately check your Thermostat ground. are you sure you hooked your tranny ground back up? and yes check your fuses. ECU fuse is under the hood and so are a lot of other fuses that would make your car inoperable.

The main relay is a brown and gray plastic box with one plug. It's behind the cruise control brain box, if you have CC.

The main relay activates the fuel pump. If you aren't getting spark, that's not your issue.

You changed the distributor. Did it come with an igniter, or did you use the old one? I assume your cap and rotor are new as well, correct? All plug wires in and in good condition? All plugs in good condition? Battery good? Sometimes a weak battery will crank the motor, but not enough to start the car. I had this issue after letting the car sit for a while.

Now, are you actually not getting spark... like, you've pulled a plug, aimed it at something metal, and cranked... with no spark? Or are you assuming that the car isn't starting because of a spark issue?

What are you looking for? The igniter? It's the little chip-type thing in the distributor. You'll see it when you remove the dust shield under the cap. It has 3 wires coming from it, with jelly-looking rubber covers on the connections.

it wouldn't surprise me if it didn't come with one since you bought it off of ebay.

the main relay for the fuel is up behind the dash. i hear it's a pita to get to.

Under the dash, to the left of the steering column. The CC box is a large-ish silver metal box. The main relay is pretty far up there. A gray and brown plastic box with one plug in it, clipped to a bracket. I never got mine off the bracket... just plugged a new one in and wedged it up there

However, if you're not getting spark, the main relay isn't causing it. The main relay only activates the fuel pump. If you're not getting fuel, then that may be an issue. An easy way to check for fuel is to crank the engine a few times, pull a sparkplug, and smell. If you smell gas, your main relay works.

Rather than asking if anyone ever got a distributor from the hundreds of people on ebay selling them, just pull your cap and look. Seriously... 45 seconds is all it'll take to see if you have one. Chances are, that's all that was wrong with your old distributor... bad igniter.
