i just inherited my grand parents 93 accord lx last summer. it has 70,528 original miles. it had 50,xxx when I first got it. 2 months ago i replaced the cap and rotor, fuel pump, fuel filter, radiator, battery, spark plug wires and spark plugs. recently it's started to idle rough. my plug wires and spark plugs are covered in oil. so i have to change the o-rings and gaskets. the valve cover gasket isnt leaking and looks new. i was wondering which brand i should get? felpro? and is it necessary to use a torque wrench to tighten the bolts down? i could i do it with a reglular wrench?

ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Get a oem one from Honda and put it on. Remember to dab some high temp rtv on the 4 corners around that go over the cam. Also it would be be a good idea to get a Haynes manual or Chilton manual for the car. They have complete tear down and rebuild of the car and comes in handy. The book also has tightening procedure such and torquing and order.-1991 Honda Accord LX H22a-

I have used a felpro and OEM honda. Both I have had no issues. I am using a Honda one now because I wanted to see if there was a difference people keep on sayin. IMO so far just about the same as my previous felpro. Probably lasting a bit longer though by the looks of it.

dealership prices
i just came back from honda empty handed
i walked up to the counter and asked the guy for the parts and the guy replied "Im on break right now" in a bitchy tone. finally about 10 mins of just standing there the same guys asks "what you need son" like nothing. anyway.. they wanted $10.00 each for the cam tower o rings (i believe thats what the guy called it).. 3.42 for the upper gaskets... idk isnt that kinda pricey for the lower o rings? i was a little upset when i left.. what makes me even upset is when i pulled the handle to get out of the car, the plastic cover broke!

Honda prices are up there, but OEM quality is SO much better than aftermarket crap.
Check out www.hondaautomotiveparts.com for the lowest dealer prices. Or, even better, www.tasauto.com for a great mix of OEM and aftermarket.

I paid 24 for my valve cover gasket. That included the gasket and the 4 orings on top.

I paid $8.33/qt for ATF. WELL worth it, my transmission shifts so much smoother. I've gotten used to paying extra for the better quality of OEM parts/fluids.Originally posted by sweet91accordif aredy time i need to put something in cb7tuner. you guy need to me a smart ass about and bust on my spelling, gramar and shit like that in so sorry.

where did you get yours from? im going back to honda anyways to get the interior door handle. one more question, if i install the a6 camshaft does it have to be tuned or is it like plug and play?Originally posted by NAiL05I paid 24 for my valve cover gasket. if you install the A6 cam, you'll need to get the proper ECU that goes with it. the PT6 i believe it is, that came in the models with the F22A6. and since you're doing the cam swap, you should try to find a A6 intake manifold while you're at it. that'll bring your engine up to 140 hp from its 125 right now.Originally posted by Markuswhere did you get yours from? im going back to honda anyways to get the interior door handle. one more question, if i install the a6 camshaft does it have to be tuned or is it like plug and play?Originally posted by deevergote. And please, for the love of God, type like a human being!
