ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    Valve cover colour

So i just got my valve cover back from my machine shop, all nice and clean, they even took the black stuff off the top of the cover, what i want to know is what colour should i do it? I have it all disassembled and ready to be painted. Im going to spray bomb it with a gun and air hose (cheap-o) and a 1/8th pint of paint... anyone got some suggestions?

match it to your car's color!
hopefully you use some paint that can withstand the heat.

Put it in the cleaner for a day... it blasts cleaner all over it, as its bolted to the unit, its heated solvent from what im told. Everything was cleaned off very nicly.

polish it and paint the lettering some metallic color or reverse that, leave the lettering shiny and paint the rest a metalic color, i think that's what i may do to the h valve cover when i get it

well, i was thinking of sending it to Keele(sp?) for a spray job.. those things look insane when he's done with them... i just noticed though, i need a new peice for the PCV valve, the old one is ripped :P Im going to put at least 5 coats of paint, and then shave the paint off the lettering, like i did on my original one, it looks nice, i just want a better shine to it. I just dont know what colour to go for... The car is already black, i dont want a black valve cover, unless i got a high metalic black, with another colour lettering... that would be pretty cool...
              any idea's appreciated -

              Lime green...? No thanks lol

How about a dark gray, with navy blue lettering?

You mean like a cast iron grey? That would look pretty sweet.

                    X2...this makes sense...

or do something complementary to your car color...what color do you want to do the engine bay? Like wires, caps, etc?

                    Could polish everything

                    as to temp. paint...powder coat?

Well i got brand new NGK blue wires on there, the cap is probably going to be painted same colour as the valve cover. the P/S bracket is going to be sand blasted and redone as well.

paint it the same color as your car. it will match the inner fenders and firwall. bur of course, if you paint your car a diff. color later, you'd havto repaint the valve cover.
                              you'll love my nuts!
