ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    found the problem!!!!

Ok, i recently posted a thread about some steering issues, and a shaking problem....well i found out that what i believe to be the motor mounts were all wasted, causing the engine to drop. I havent been using the car since i got down here with the exception of the test drive i gave when i got it here. So my question is, do the motor mounts have to be replaced, or is the rubber piece inside is what is supposed to be replaced. How much are the motor mounts? Is it an easy job? here is a pic of the front one.

You have to replace the whole mount. You can usually find them in junkyards, if you don't want to buy a whole new one.

The other option is to fill the ones you have using $15 worth of home depot stuff. There is a DIY for it around here someplace. This usually adds a little bit of vibration, because you loose some of the dampening effects, but you gain some launching stability.

I don't know that bad mounts would affect your steering, though.

for the front mount, Energy Suspension makes a polyurethane insert that just goes over the broken mount and corrects it, so there's no need to buy a new mount for that one. I think the kit I got was $25 shipped off of Ebay, just search in ebay motors and it should come up. It's WAY cheaper than buying a new one for like $70, plus it's better and will never wear out.

For the other mounts, ESPnet on here makes some polyurethane ones as well, custom tailored for the CB7's engine or the H22 engine if you want to swap soon. I think it runs like $235 for all, either 3 or 4 idk, but they're good quality parts. Just for Honda mounts alone, you'd spend at least that much if not more and they're not made of polyurethane so they'll eventually fail again. The ESP ones wont.

And another big factor if you're going the OEM Honda route is if you have a rear hydrolic mount. Those run 200+ just for that one mount so it's pretty costly. But I do believe you can swap that one out for a regular mount somehow. So check up on that.
