ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

I'm thinking you didn't search enough.

But anyways, you are looking for the F22B1 (note the one), out of the 1994-95 Accord EX. This swap is not really worth it (IMO), because the VTEC in that engine is not performance, it is economy. It is only rated for 145 Hp. The F22A6 is rated for 140, and has more potential as an engine (via bolt ons, turbo, whatever).

Swap wise, it wouldn't be too difficult, you will have to rewire some of the ECU harness.

Yes, an H22A or a F22B (note the lack of a one, so JDM DOHC)/H23A are way better options for swaps, more power and potential in the future.

Honestly, single cam vtec kinda sucks.

I have the h23 and its nice and it seems to pull my car real well up hills and such, I had an h22 and well until Vtec kicks in its just like a stock F22. If you are looking for a cheap upgrade an F22b Dohc or the H23 (pretty much the same motor) would be your best pick. When you do the swap add 1,000 to 2,000 for misc upgrades and broken parts that you will encounter. All those swap mention have there own pro and cons and here is a short list
F22b vtec little pump in Hp and a lot of work
F22b Dohc / H23 cheap(in terms of cost) upgrade in terms of cost little rewiring about 2 or 3 wires depending if you are an ex lx and such.
H22 Somewhat expensive requires rewiring, about as much for the H23, but a hell of a lot of fun.

            F22b vtec 145Hp Cost 300
            F22b Dohc / H23 160Hp Cost 650
            H22 190 to 200 hp Cost 900 to 1000
(these specs are from memory so hp and price be different)

You will reuse the harness you already have. You don't have to get a matching tranny, it's up to you if you want the different gears.

Also, price can vary, a lot. For instance, I paid $500 for my H22A, with a P13 ECU and a whole box of spare parts (almost an entire head included). I found mine on craigslist. Just keep your eyes open for deals like that. The $800-1200 range is more accurate if you are getting it from an engine importer. Sometimes a private seller just needs the space and wants to get rid of it, and doesn't care too much about price. We recently also picked up a F22B (DOHC) for $425. If you look hard enough, you can get decent deals.

                  F22B Vtec

Well IMO the F22B is a very good block and economical. At approximately $3.90-4 a gallon on the east coast, the SOHC VTEC would be a great swap and that block has some great potential.

I think you will be happy with the replacement, although the H23a NonVtec Replacement it also a good swap.. Just keep in mind, it is your car and your preference. I wish i could have stayed with my A6 block and ran boost instead of DOHC VTEC.

I speak from experience and I have a H22a in one of my CB7 and another cb7 with a fully built H24A and they both are completely tuned and run like a rape ape. On the bad side H22a can drink a butt load of fuel $$$$$. I fill up my tank twice a week now and it costs me $120 for that one week. I can get about 33mpg on the road and that is never seeing 3k rpm.. I would think hard about going to a true stock performance motor..
