ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

    bleeding abs brakes???

i have a question, can i bleed brakes normally even though i have abs ? my brakes all of a sudden have a spongey feel after i depress the brake pedal. when the car has stopped with my foot on the brake, it slowly starts to go all the way to the floor. ive never disconected the brake lines, and all the fluids are full. any help is welcome.

I think your master cylinder is leaking.

I dunno if bleeding brakes with abs is the same as regular brakes, though.

replacement master cyl. likely. Get a Honda OEM one if it is the problem. You don't wanna skimp on quality on your brake system.

under a 100 if you buy it from here, so about 112 shipped for an OEM one.

i replaced my mastercylinder on 93 a while back...it also has abs, and my first choice was to replace with a used 1 from junkyard...but the abs and regular m-c's are different the fittings are different sizes...so make sure when you order 1 you ask for the abs.

and i bled jus like normal brakes....

noted. when you bled the brakes on the abs, did everything worked afterwards?

yeah the ABS has its own separate reservoir and lines, so when you bleed normally, you just bleed the brakes and not the ABS system. You first need to bench bleed the MC first, that is, get fluid in the cylinder and bleed it out of the box to get the fluid in there before you mount it to the brake booster. THEN you can bleed the lines going in a criss cross pattern RR-LF, LR-RF, since the lines are connected in an X pattern so in case one goes, the other will still be able to control the car.

i had the same problem...it's the master cylinder bud. they're easy as hell to change though so you're in good shape. as for the question about bleeding the lines there is a bleed valve on each wheel so it's the same even for abs...good luck

o.k. guys i finally got the brakes fixed. i asked Rich (jackfrostwhite) who is a Honda mechanic, to fix my brakes. he and Juan (icedplaya123), and Brian (bcozzi71) showed up at my crib and we all helped each other working on installing the master cylinder lol. after the brakes was fixed, we all took a ride in my car and sure enough the brakes worked, after blazing by traffic somewhat. thanks to everyone for the input on the abs system and thanks to rich, juan, and brian for all the help. later.
