ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Alt. Plug ear broke, plug wont stay in....

Is there any way I can fix the alt. plug on the alternator? the plastic ear that the clip is supposed to snap onto broke and now the plug keeps coming out when I drive.

or is this plug on the alt. considered the voltage regulator? b/c in my Haynes manual it says its removable. You think that's possible?

That would be # 25 I need in the following diagram? If its 142 bucks i'm going to the JY lol

^^ I was thinking through both holes, but chances are you won't be able to get anything through the clip hole, so you could always put it through the hole on the alternator & under the clip part of the pllug.

go to advance auto parts or autozone or equivalent and look in the ricer isle.. there is a section that has header wrap... and thermal spray and the such.. by the header wrap there are some metal clamps (auto claming) no need for screw driver.. these are used to hold th headerwrap down.. but in ur case can be used like a ziptie but its metal

yeah I went to the JY today and i took apart the back section of the alt. and found what I needed....now the problem is.....i gotta put it on mine lol. That means taking off the Alt and PS from the car and the belts. Oh well a zip tie will work until I get the energy to install that. I've been working on my car for 5 straight days so i GOTTA take a break from it lol.

they were 4 dollars each! and yellow. I wanted yellow fogs. So total, to wire them up w/ a switch and extra wiring, it was 14 buck for working fogs! Can't beat that.

OEM fogs are at least 125 bucks and even then you might not get a full kit w/ the relays and stuff required.

A zip tie should hold that no problem with no melting issues. you're not ziptying an exhaust manifold, just an alternator.
