ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    fuel filterr, yay!!

So, dumbass me...once again, went to Advance Auto parts to get new parts for the carrrr. But once again, got fucked overrrr. Happens everytimeee. So, the only fuel filter they had for our cars, is the Purolater one. (cheapest but what's new? ). So, first of all. The washers, are about the 1/3 of the size of the washers that SHOULD come with it. They're little...VERY thin washers. It's been years since this fuel filter's been replaced. My dad owned this car before me, and he had it for about...3 years before he gave it to me a little over a year ago. I'm 99.7% positive, it's never been replaced, plus...the look of it. wow. If all goes well, I'ma take this junk back to Advance, and try and get a Fram one ordered. Advance is always so quick to give you the cheapest shit they have. (Or, the one in my town definitely does). Now, on this filter... it leaks out the top of the Banjo bolt. (top washer). You can see it bubbling. But, also..another issue. When I tried to loosin' this Banjo bolt, I almost had to get a breaker bar to do it. Think it coulda messed up my banjo bolt? I'll most likely be buying another bolt, along with exchangin' this filter. I just don't know if Advance is the place to go anymore. Everything I've bought from that damn store's been a bad experience. But yea, our accords don't like the cheap parts, so don't waste your time buying them. If you have a budget, and need a part for the car......just save up. It's not worth going through the hassle. Suchas, buyin' the Bosch o2 sensor cause it's the cheapest. JUNK!!!

the only one that would work on my car is a Bosch one, the one that was on there before. Weird, I know.

well, yeah, you got that danm right if you buy something cheap, your cb7 will spit it out, so try to contac a Honda dealer to get one, or do as my friend above said, get the bosch one, i got one and when i replaced it it was in good shaped to continue using it but i changed it anyway!

Went to return it, and they just gave me a new one. Same one, and it....worked. Odd. But yea, problem fixed. But, gas mileage still sucks. Next step's the fuel pump.

how can you tell in just one day? lol. Also did you reset your ECU by pulling the 15amp fuse for about a min. and then reinserting it? Its located near the driver side fusebox inside the car. That may help clear the codes from the last fuel filter.

Pretty sure changing your fuel pump isn't going to save you any gas.

I've used Purolator fuel filters from Advance as well for years on our daily drivers, no problems whatsoever.

Well, see...my car gets 200 miles to 10 gallons of gas. I didn't have a CEL for the filter. Just figured it'd be a good idea to replace it, cause my dad has this car for a few years, and I'm very sure he didn't replace it. Oh, and I drove 80 random miles today. And burned about 4 1/2 gallons of gas. Highway miles. My step-dad said I could take it to Thacker (Mechanic who put the engine in), and test the fuel pump. I guess, my next step's gonna be...fuel injectors? Next Friday, I'ma replace a few sensors. Coolant temp. sensor, and that jazz. I just don't understand how a car can use MORE gas if something goes bad. Shouldn't it use LESS? So, obviously....something (sensor-wise), has to be telling this engine hey....you need more gas. Like, for-say....a fuel filter. If a filter is going bad, or is clogged...it'll use LESS. Not more. What the hell!!!! I took the whole intake manifold off, and cleaned..cleaned...cleaned. IAC, Plenum, Throttle body...went through a whole can of carb. cleaner. Also, next Friday, I'ma get this cat gutted. Get a resonator or something to limit some of the sound, but the muffler I've got....deletes enough. When they were installin' the catalytic I bought (Universal, and this is when my car was straight back), he told me to start it up with the fart can still on it, to see if I liked it. It got LOUDER and more high pitched. Slammed this turbo performance muffler on it, and it sounds so clean. More engine, than Muffler. Around here, we have inspections. They just check if you have cats. I'll just get a pipe going through the cat. But ever since I got that damn thing put on, it's killed 80-100 miles to my tank. (My tank bein' 10 gallons). Damn fuel level unit thing must be bad.

It's like.....1 morning, I drive 300 miles to fairfax on a tank. (10 gallons), then drive back 2 days later...300 miles. Few mornings later, wake up.....get 200 miles to the tank. I used to run the PISS out of this car, cause nothing would break......and didn't seem like it used much more gas either way. Grandma, or daytona 500. I'd still get 300 or more miles to 10 gallons. 30 miles a gallon!!
                    Now it's like...19-20.

did u guys know the oem one is a fram filter?

there was a study done on some oil site and they took apart a oem honda filter to find it to be a fram and it actually had a fram label inside.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

Yea, the back cover of the Haynes has the Diagnostic for the plugs, but these plugs are like....3 weeks old? And the ones I took out were only about a month old, but my car was kickin' a sputter out once every like...10 stops. Wasn't really noticable, but....changed 'em anyway, and the plugs that were in there, looked brand new. I'll have to go to wal-mart and check out their plug reader thing. Doesn't seem too difficult. Found a DIY for it on the site.
