ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Electric Supercharger

I was looking in ebay today to get an idea on prices on part and ran into a electric supercharger.

    Has anyone heard of this?
    Does it work?
    Is it worth?
    LMK?

From what I've gathered, it's like hooking up a vacuum to your intake system. It merely accelerates the airflow a little bit. Nothign super substantial.. Then again, some of them have some pretty impressive results.

Just my opinion, but I wouldn't bother with them.

I chuckled when I saw the title of the post. These electric superchargers have been on ebay for years and after reading so much about them its easy to know that they are not worth it. That little motor is going to have to be sucking air harder then the motor is for it to make a difference and I just can't see it happening. If anything it would have to be restricting air flow. Just look at it like this.. If they were a good deal then wouldnt you see a lot of people having them???

I was selling one here awhile ago.

There are people who sells them on ebay and they also provide vids and dyno sheets. So they do work in some aspect.

No. They DO NOT... AT ALL, they are actually a restriction, and a waste of money. I saw a dyno shet on HMT a while ago... IT proved they are shit.

it probably takes more power from the Alt. to run the motor in that then it would supply the engine w/.

Their is a real Electric Supercharger though....

Its from Thomas Knight it's said to really make a difference like hitting your motor with NOS. But like NOS only power gain in short burst. Here is a link for more details. http://www.boosthead.com/home.php

The site is selling the product so of course they are going to say it works.. Just like ebay and there cheap a$$ ecu chips.. If it does works its only forcing more air into your engine which will prolly make u run lean

psh, just install a leaf blower under the hood. Give you an extra 10 horses. But yea, my friend put one of those electric superchargers on his Subaru, and it definitely killed his top end. Then he realized why the dude sold it to him for 5 bucks. haha

Um, that's the basic idea behind any forced induction.

With any significant change in air volume through the engine more fuel will be needed to make the power (and avoid engine damage), but for best results with Ebay electric 'superchargers' you might need less fuel...

i tried one back in the days where i was modifiying cheap, but it was a piece of crap, like said the little motor was obviosly no where near as powerful and it just restriced airflow resulting in a loss of power! well i have learnt my lesson haha spend a bit of money and do things right the first time!

i always wondered if these things worked.. Lol. Guess not. The "turbonator" is also on the same lines as the electric supercharges. HAha. I read somewhere someone was trying to hook up 8 of them to their car, i dont know.. it was funny.
