ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.
2 of 2 < >

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Most low-end cars run 15s these days. Most of the midrange cars (any V6 Honda, Toyota, Nissan...) will run mid to low 14s. Even an H22 swapped CB7 could potentially get trounced by a grandma in an automatic Accord V6.

To be able to hang with anything other than a 10 year old NA 4 banger, you'll need to spend some money. Simple bolt-on mods can increase the fun level, but you won't be out there beating on Mustange... MAYBE the automatic V6 convertibles... (well, definitely... those things run 17s) The F22A has AMAZING NA potential, but you have to shell out the dough to get it. The H22A swap is reasonably priced, but still costs nearly as much as many people pay for their entire CB7 these days. Nitrous is the cheapest route, but refilling the bottle isn't cheap. Turbo is honestly the most cost-efficient route, if you study hard and shop smart. It can get real expensive real fast if you buy crap parts and have to rebuild or replace them... or have to rebuild or replace your engine!

true man! but in some places turbos are not a good idea cuz of if it is rainy alot in that area or something to that extent water or sand will get sucked in engine or into the bearings.

but finding a good h22a for cheap is hard. but can't we put a k20a from the accord euro-r fit?

so yeah what you are saying is that if you want a faster car get a newer accord?or car?

What the hell are you talking about? I mean, seriously...

          I'll go in reverse...

I'm saying that our cars need a lot of work to be competitive with today's offerings. People act like an H22A or a cheap sub-$1000 turbo setup will make their car a rocket. At best, it'll put it on par with Grandma's 14.4 second Accord V6... and MOST H22A CB7s will run 14.8 at best, with standard mods (intake and exhaust...) I run this site. Believe me, I have an appreciation for the CB7. I wouldn't suggest that anyone get a new car, because I think that's the loser's way out. If you love the CB7, make it fast... but you're not going to do so with a simple swap or junkyard turbo.

Next, the Accord Euro R doesn't come with a K20. It never has, and never will. The current Accord Euro R is our TSX, with a K24. The old ones had one of the best H22As.
If finding a good H22A is hard, affording a K series will be even harder... and putting it in will be MUCH harder.

Finally, to comment on the most... interesting... statement I have read in a long long time...
Rain, sand, etc... it all has NOTHING to do with a turbo, provided that you put a filter on it. If you're stupid enough to run without a filter on your turbo (as many are...) then yeah, you're risking damage. However, you can slap a stubby pipe and a good cone filter on any turbo, and it's just as safe as any NA setup. You won't get sand in your engine or "bearings" (whichever bearings you were referring to is beyond me...) In fact, a cold air intake on a NA motor, unless it has a bypass valve, is much more of a risk than a turbo with an engine-bay mounted filter.

Water wouldn't be an issue regardless, unless you mount your turbo way down low... and it would take a custom manifold to do that... if you're dumb enough to purposely make a custom manifold that puts the turbo in puddle range, you deserve what you get!

Hasport has a mount kit for it, yes. However, it's not a simple swap to do. Compared to the H22 swap, it's night and day. The H22 swap is one of the easiest swaps in the automotive world.

                if so i'll just build a f22a6

Well, honestly.....I've got an f22a6 myself (automatic), and I pull away from some cars that would leave some speechless. Mind, my car's like...the 2nd heaviest Cb7 made. (91 4 door SE). But, it's not breath taking and doesn't turn heads. Seems to me like you wanna show some people up, and turn a few heads. haha, only way to get that would be to boost. Kick a BOV next to a crowd of people, you'll get attention. There's so many semi-mods you can do to these cars, but 2,3,4,5 horses at a time. Just say...spending money on trying to add 50-60 horsepower to your car, you could save that money to get an H22. There's plenty of stuff on here to help you. My h22 fund is on it's way, and I was so against doing it, cause I thought I could do shit to this car without it. Nah, unless I boost, there's not really much. Only thing that would show the most difference, is the 5 speed swap, and I'm just not down for that. But.....h22 automatic, if I'm pulling on the cars I am now, with an F22a6 with what....150 horses? Just imagine the damage with 200+. Trust me, people tried talking me into the H22 for months, and after my old engine blew, and I got a new engine (Another f22), and after the money I spent (1500 dollars), for the engine....and to get it installed (250 of that was for new parts...waterpump, new timing belts, gaskets, seals, etc), I wish I could go back in-time and buy the h22.
http://www.tigerjapanese.com/index.p...mart&Itemid=26 <It's even sad to look at. But hey, my Birthday's coming up in August.
And what really erked me, was this past weekend gettin' beat by a 92' Buick Regal. Damnit. These little cheap mods you can do to the car (what you're looking for), might help eat up on some older 4 bangers.....Civics, Cavaliers, shit like that. But if you wanna hang with the new cars, suchas...the Rsx, newer Accord, new Civics or even an 08' Cobalt (), you're gonna need more than an intake, header, and exhaust. I'm finally side by side with my friends 08' Cobalt (5 speed), and trust me....for a Cobalt, my whole town envys it. He's just.. an Intake, Muffler (not a cat-back), and a little 1 1/2" drop. But outta all the cars in town, I keep up with it.

gotz cb7 same thing happened to me my first f22a got killed cuz the water pump froze and snaped the timing belt so that motor was junk, my gave me the car with a bad motor when i was 14. he said just pay for a motor and stuff and the car is yours but then i was new to the tuning world so i didn't know about swaps. so i wish i could have put a h22 in my car then.
i have paid $600 for engine and install a salvage yard engine.

but do you have run 93 on a h22a or can i use 87.
